Tariffs have been part of U.S. policy since 1789

... And then there's THIS - Trump mentions imposing tariffs
on Canada - and half-a-mo later, here comes their PM to
make peace with Trump... ...

How long did THAT take? ... ... Two days? ... Trump is The BEST!

trump would be nowhere without gullible rubes who believe everything he says, no questions asked.

Instead of actually reading what the Mexican President has said, they just fall for trump's bullshit version of what went down...hook, line and sinker.

As of tonight, I spoke to someone who supplies components to a company who has production facilities in the US and Mexico.

All you need to know is they make parts supplied to auto manufactures.

Well, now they have a conundrum, Trumps tarriffs has them afraid, see, their plants in the US, make a much better part, and the US made ones go to the US auto industry, the trade off, the Mexian made parts are cheaper, but the quality goes downhill, so, those parts have to go aftermarket as, the big car makers don't want shit parts, so.

They are facing the big decision to either expand here, pay more, or try and expand in Mexico, where any savings would be moot if tarriffed.

So, guess what the fist tariffs haven't even HIT and companies are giving consideration to what?

Bringing production back to the USA for more money spent here, better parts, and less fear and issues dealing with Mexico.

Which is EXACTLY what Trump wants to happen, when younze all going to admit, you just hate Trump, no matter what he does, even it helps the US economy.

TDS 2, fucking sad to see.

I know supply chain managers, importers, plant managers, etc. who love Trump and don't have any intent on bringing that manufacturing back to America because it would quadruple the cost of their product and kill thier margins. They'll move the lines elsewhere because it will still be cheaper.

So... yeah. Your pertual need to see TDS instead of alternatices is hilarious.

Nah, You're my spellchecker. You're kinda ok at it, and provide the service for free.

So often, in fact, that sometimes I leave a few for you on purpose. I'm thankful for the assist, as usual.

The U.S. lost 200,000 manufacturing jobs under trump. Why would anyone believe those jobs will be coming back under the same guy? His voters say they like his "policies" lol. Well, those policies led to 200k less manufacturing jobs in this country.

Great job, cult members. Great job.

Nope. As usual, you're being dishonest with the data.

Here are the totals for US manufacturing jobs 1) when Trump took office, 2) three years later, just before the pandemic hit, and 3) when he left office in the midst of the pandemic.

Jan. 2017: 12,366,000

Jan. 2020: 12,785,000

Jan. 2021: 12,188,000

Do the math and you will find that Trump added 419,000 manufacturing jobs during his first 3 years in office. In 2020, we shed 597,000 manufacturing jobs - not due to Trump or his economic policies, but DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

For you to say Trump's policies led to a (net) drop of almost 200k manufacturing jobs for his entire first 4-year term is thoroughly dishonest. It's a deliberate obfuscation for you to ignore the obvious fact that the 2020 numbers were distorted by covid.

Trump's economic policies were working well, until the pandemic knocked things off track.

And today, after 4 years of Bidenomics, we are only slightly above the peak in manufacturing employment that Trump achieved during his first 3 years.

Due to his *complete and utter mishandling* of the pandemic. FTFY.

Anyway, despite another obvious attempt by you to derail the conversation, we're about to see prices of everything rise up once more when his tariffs hit. Companies are already laying people off. Spirit Airlines gonna file for bankruptcy. Wait til you see the price of tomatoes, avocados, tequila, heating oil and gas in a few months.

I'm confused, tommy. Please help me out.

First you said trump's economic policies led to the loss of almost 200,000 manufacturing jobs. Now you're saying it was all due to the pandemic.

Which is it?

Please make up your mind.

We don't need tariffs. If the mass expect the price of things to go up, they're going to raise prices regardless of if they need to make up the extra from the tariff.

Corporate greed is going to be greedy regardless of tariffs.
