If it is so demeaning....then how do you think hobbyist feel about being asked to pay full rates for a relaxing time? Sex gets thrown into the mix...then yeah...full rate is expected....but, just for down time, like riding on a boat? Never once did I say anything about not being willing to pay, if a business transaction took place. I would never do that, because I know how you make your money. But, what is getting missed here......is the fact that some providers think, that if you are at home doing nothing...and your phone is not ringing for an appointment....but, someone calls you up and says, "Hey, I am going on the lake....want to go".....that they should have to pay your for that. I have seen a thread where some provider posted, that they are not always on their phones waiting for it to ring for an appointment. But, if it rang for some relaxing downtime, you would charge for it, because it is taking away from the "POSSIBILITY OF YOU GETTING AN APPOINTMENT".....well, I guess you can sit there and wait for your phone to ring for that appointment....THAT MAY OR MAY NOT EVER COME. or you can go enjoy yourself for the day.....make appointments for the night....and possibly even have a business transaction on the lake....but, arguing my point of view is like talking to a group of fence post.

Danielle....Correct me, if I am wrong....but, was there not a thread back last "October" about a hobbyist going on a vacation to Vegas....that you said you were willing to go....just for the vacation experience? If you remember that thread.....other providers instantly jumped on "Can I work while I am there?
or "Will you pay me for my time?"....something along those lines....If memory serves me correctly....you were more interested in the vacation away from AR....first chance to go to Vegas.....and you realized what the hobbyist was spending on this vacation. I am not saying, that you would not have expected to get paid for any business transactions.....but, you saw the big picture in the vacation? My point is.....if I am remotely correct on this...it is the same situation.....just on a lesser scale.

Actually contrary to what you may think about me or believe I'm a very kind hearted person and will go above and beyond to help someone else even if it puts me in a bad situation by doing so. However when it comes to my chosen profession I'm all business. I don't choose to do this for fun I do it for money. It's simple. I have a family to provide for as do you and I don't play with my income. I treat each and every hobbyist with the utmost respect as they do me. Never will one of the clients I have encountered say she was such a bitch.

Bringing this up again (because it was the best trip ever)

I went to Vegas last year with a client. A client I have met many times before the trip was planned and felt comfortable around. He was not some random guy that messaged me one day wanting to fly me to Vegas.

7 days we spent together. He paid me what I asked on top of covering meals, drinks, gambling, Hover Dam tour with Lake Mead cruise, airfare, and that overprice Ferris wheel. We stayed in different hotels on the strip, ate way too much food, drunk until we had enough, and gambled until the drunks started showing up. It was a great time and he didn't give me the creeps by acting like a total jackass.

I did ask for a lower amount than I would from anyone else because he allowed me to do video shoots while I was there (paid shoots so I was still making cash). Sometimes I have nothing better to do but I'm not getting on some boat with some guy that can't take NO for an answer without trash talking everyone on a thread that wasn't even about him and that no one, not even Ginger, mentioned his name.

I'm still searching for the post that said, "Sag did this to me". Haven't found it yet. Good job outing yourself though. Someone must feel a little guilty.

Danielle - I know you aren't quoting me since I never said any of those things. Ginger and you are very adept at creating a narrative and shoving it down peoples throats. "I respect clients that treat us with respect"? How bout many of us hobbyists only see providers that treat us with respect both in person on on the boards. I rarely post and I don't always agree with some of my fellow hobbyists, but it with extreme regularity and annoyance that I watch you, Ginger and Baby Doll team up to attack them. Petty and childish. I am certain that it cost you money in the long run although you all clearly have enough cash that you don't care about potential future customers.

She's quoting me bro... Which I don't think that's demeaning. Anymore so than exchanging time and sex for money... Sex is relatively easy to come by for me in all seriousness. For one I am married have been for 17 years and to quote my wife "as long as the paycheck keeps coming in and it doesn't affect our lives, whatever makes you happy makes me happy" so I can get sex from her... Second, although I am bald and overweight I am a reasonably attractive guy with a good sense of humor and I think most people I know would say a good personality and I am not the type of guy that gets awkward or shy. Add to that the fact that I make a very good living I can get sex without explicitly paying for it. But what I have discovered as I get older is hobbying is actually cheaper and nets more sex. If I was looking for a wife or a SO this isn't the road I would choose. So DR if you thought I meant "you get paid to leave" as demeaning I apologize... Now the part about "y'all are the help" an hourly employee. That was meant to be demeaning but I was angry and I apologize...

Back on topic...

I would never expect a providor to do something with me for free even if it is fun. This is business. I wouldn't go to work for free even if it was a fun day... Well maybe but not usually.
