In answer to your question about digging into someone's life in a city I rarely visit...... I'm currently in San Antonio once a week and was raised there. I used to own businesses as well as still own property in the area.....
I don't dig into someone's life because I am curious. A lot of information was simply sent to me.
When someone threatens me though.... or their SO threatens me..... When they threaten the people around me that might support a cause..... when they publicly announce they will out any gathering of people supporting something I used to do......
Well.... At that time it's time to get to know who and what you are dealing with...no matter where they live...... These threats were made on this board in public view...... and as an entire community spoke out against the person leveling them..... the one with the most control over him as well as having the most to gain by his actions remained silent....... some say that she holds no responsibility but even today.....Rocker Rick is constantly at her side and a part of her life and is set on doing whatever it takes to stay there...... he creates handles constantly, gains access to private areas, shares everything with her, runs interference and attacks anyone on the board with a negative word to say about her in any city she tours.... There is no doubt in my mind that she is complicit in all his actions.....
It takes very little information to determine who someone is and not a lot of effort to learn everything there is about them with the information available online.
Determining and knowing friends and friends of friends is easily accomplished through social engineering sites.... a lot of other details can be found elsewhere.....
The point, as discussed with Netx9 is not to ever need it..... It's like the cold war created with the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction..... with everyone having nuclear weapons everyone knows that to use them means everything as we know it ending.....
It's the same here.....After dealing with this once before I learned that if I need to deal with it again I want to be able to tell someone that should they interfere with my life that there is nothing about theirs that will be sacred.
Being able to paint them a picture that there is nothing unknown tends to make the claws retract a bit.... Someone has to know and understand the consequences of their actions..... Especially with a track record of doing the same to others that did not know how to deal with it.....
It can also be helpful to be able to paint a picture to someone close to them about things a person says about them behind their back...... People that stab others in the back go through phases where they trust other people and share too much..... This is a community of gossips...
Knowing the dirty little embarrassing secrets of a person's partner that could ONLY have come out of the other partner's mouth can potentially split their alliance and devotion to each other...... Unless of course there is another underlying cause of it all that demonstrates that they have given up control of their lives and reasoning to things that tend to take over and prohibit rational thought....
Dealing with someone that outs or threatens to out other people comes down to really only two options..... Letting them win and running from it.... Extremely expensive as well as can in effect destroy a relationship you might have with an SO or family as you explain changes you make in your life....
Or positioning yourself to be able to fight back.....
The first time I was outed led to my opening up totally to my SO, selling a business and moving from Texas to a place over 1000 miles away..... It was costly but separated me from the issues..... In the long run it was much more costly and a decision I regretted.
The 2nd time I presented the person doing it a picture of everything personal in his/her life and a simple description of what I would do with it.....I made sure it was overwhelming and demonstrated there was nothing I did not know....I gave her/him the option of dropping it and we went our separate ways......
Information, in and of itself is not dangerous......
It takes time to accumulate and wade through........ After threats were made towards me and others I took time away from issues here to learn what I would need to a) defend myself if necessary and b) to strike back with should they follow through with their threats......
Fair? I don't know..... But I also do not know what else to do..... Behind the scenes these two people have continued to out people, ruin lives, hurt people with no regards or concerns about their actions......
I agree that there is a potential for somewhere are times I pause and think that Slave is an unwitting accomplice to Rocker Rick who creates the problems that he needs to rescue her from....It could explain a few things......
