I would think that if I hired a photographer to capture some images, that they would be mine to use as I so choose. I don't know what kind of arrangements were made between the parties so I won't speculate.
But, I've got a friend up in Austin who has an unbelievable talent in photography. Yes, she's a professional photographer and not some 2x4, fly-by-night operation. She's a really cool gal who offers some really interesting, and unique photo-shoot packages
Guin, I have absolutely no doubt that the two of you could create some spectacular images.
Here's her link. Give it a look and if you're interested, give he a call. She truly is a great gal.

Here's one of her old ads which gives you a taste of the kinds of services she offers.
Sample of services offered
I've done the couples shoot and had a blast!
Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you in case you might be interested.
Merry Christmas.

Always a font of information...a professional photographer. They are NOT all professional SKF as you well know. I plan on staring a National threAD after the holidays when I'm back from vacation high lighting and educating board members. I bet it will be entertaining.
One question? The photographer you recommended... is she dressed when she does the shoot?

This is the reason I dont use the last pro pics I took the watermark was huge compared to samples I was shown before hand and totally covered parts of my body.

Actually I don't mind either one since the first one I almost don't notice the watermark at all and the second one I was staring at her ass the whole time!! The ones that bother me are the ones that go across the whole picture but if they are placed along the border of the picture which to me is kind of the dead space of the picture then I hardly notice them at all! Especially since research has shown that when we look at pictures whether they are single pics or magazine pics most of our eyes have been trained to look at the middle of the pic and work out in a spiral going counter clockwise
which is why in my opinion a lot of studios would put there watermark either in the middle (the first thing you see) or along the border (the last thing you see).

Perhaps the ladies on the site need to make it a point to retain the rights to their pictures. IF you hire someone, especially if you pay them, you don't have to give them the rights to the images or you can restrict their ability to use them. If they are working for you, don't let them have the rights to your images unless they pay you for them as they would pay the model in any standard photo shoot.
Look carefully at the contract they hand you before you let them take the photos. No reason to pay someone to take your photos and also give them the rights to the images.

Yes, darnnit, she remained clothed....which is too bad because she's really cute.
She'd offer a suggestion here and there, when she thought, whatever change, would make a better image... but for the most-part, she was the proverbial, "fly on the wall" ; unintrusive, and quiet as a church mouse; while we did our thang.
It was also a turn-on, knowing this cutie was viewing us, through the lens while capturing all of the debauchery digitally. ...just made me wonder what sort of effect it might have been having on her.. I *know* what effect it was having on me....'boinnng!!'.
This be her...
Check these images....
More of her work
But, as promised, all of the images which were captured were transferred directly from her camera onto my portable hard drive and her SD/MMC was wiped clean/reformatted/etc. and if there were any duplicates, (which I'm sure there aren't), they haven't been made public.
Like I said, she's just super cool and the consummate professional.
....with her online images each having the all important, "tastefully placed/tagged watermarks"
.

In my opinion thats a SHITTY picture of Kat VonDee. If that was me in the picture you guys would give it a second look. The only good thing is how HOT Kat is even in a shitty picture.
Now look at the picture of SLAVE. No idea who took that picture but love the lighting and the shadows and of course Slave is HOT as ever.
My point being, some of these "Photographers" do average at best work but are smart as a fox securing business from the likes of Kat VonDee & TyraXXX effectively making themselves look good by slampping their big ass banner accross the picture.
I could drag Kat VonDee, TyraXXX & Slave in the mud first thing in the morning no make up and take pictures with my iphone and the pictures would still be AWESOME. Why? Because the subjects are AWESOME not the pictures!

So what I am hearing, and correct me if I'm mistaken, SL, but what I'm hearing is that, a quality subject can make a marginal photographer's work look good but there's no getting away from a creep, because creeps always wind-up making an appearance somewhere along the way.
I think that's the gist of it. Am I close, SL?
Hope you had a great Christmas!

Slave, you always look stunning!!
Thank you for this thread. Very interesting. I put my name across my photos because someone was using my photos once. But I haven't had professionals done and I'm really contemplating whether I want to or not.

Hello San Antonio (Love your River walk BTW!), below are my thoughts to Still Lookings comments on his calendar post:
First off I NEVER asked or "demanded" the OP (Still Looking) to remove the images, I simply asked him to do ONE of three things:
1. Reupload the original uncropped images showing the watermarks.
2. Give proper credit to my photo business in a followup reply to the post.
3. Ask a Mod to update the cropped images with the uncropped photos originally submited by ladies.
We (SL and I) chatted through PM first, and I never asked, demanded or requested a Mod take the images down. I never even contacted a Mod to inquire about the possibility of doing so. That was OP's decision which really only hurts the ladies in the end. I have NO problem with my clients (the ladies) choice to submit any images I create to ANY online competition, magazine or use in marketing for her business. Thats why I am in business and do my craft. That includes his (SL) online calendar, which I specifically retouched the (offending) photo of TyraXXX as she requested for the original calendar post. I only have a problem when someone (Still Looking: who's not my client!) deliberately crops off my watermark or changes my Copyrighted images to use for their own purpose but doesn't allow credit where credit is do.
I even offered to email him the uncropped original images if he provided me his email address. I did notice that he left Mrs. September: Victoria Jolie watermark (Santillo) on the bottom right side of the image, but decided to crop off mine?? I thought he said NO watermarks, humm? SL reasoning to this forum comment was it wasn't as BIG as mine and he found it less offensive. He never asked or gave me the choice to make a smaller watermark on my images he originally posted. If he HAD requested that I may have done so - VS - SL removing the images from the original calendar post. Say what? Yes, I am that flexible to special client requests!!!!
SL never contacted me prior to posting my images to ask if he could crop or manipulate the image to remove my watermark. Maybe if he had done so I would have been OK with it and allowed him to do so. He should ask and not assume what he is doing is right? Heck he knew who I was and had the ability to contact me about it, I never knew who he was prior to the first PM I sent him. He could have just emailed me from my website as Im normally pretty flexible when it comes to promoting ladies who use my photography services.
Here are both images he posted, that I asked to be credited for you all to decide if they are "distracting, offensive" or not to the viewer. He is entitled to his opinion if the BCD Studios watermark is offensive or not AND I'm entitled to believe if global warming is real or not! (LOL) It's ALL a matter of personal opinion and personal tastes etc. To each his own.
Hope that clears up the other side to the story, as there are always two sides to everything. I am a professional photographer who offers professional photography services - Still Photos and HD Videos. I always listen and work closely with all my clients to find mutual understandings for the providers marketing use + needs. I have had NO complaints about my services from my clients and am happy to answer all questions about usage rights with the images we create. If they aren't using them then my time and talents are wasted. I'm not creating images just to sit on my hard drive for me to look at in the privacy of my studio. I am here to share beautiful images of stunning women and bring joy to the world. :P With that I say - Peace be to all!

As the Admin who pulled those two pics off of numerous threads around the site, I probably would have handled this a bit differently SL.
When the ladies sent you pics, with the watermarks included, it probably would have been better to re-request different pics from them, again specifying ones without the copyright/watermark. If they were unable or unwilling to do so, you probably should have dropped those ladies from the project and chose different ones; ones that could/would comply with the original request/guidelines I can see where the studio would be upset that their info would be removed, just as I understand (and share) your dislike of the distracting info on pics. But I don't think cropping the info was the right course of action, just dropping the pic and lady altogether would be better.
In your part of the world there is no shortage of beautiful ladies to choose from!
