no matter what , don't beat yourselves up overit..I mean , Hey , so it happenned,...... what now? your asking?
dont think about the penis so much, step back, take a breath , drink a cup of coffee .
if you get yourself all lathered into a frenzy , you can end up checking your penis every ten minutes for symptoms. Every little twitch will turn into an itch then you may think your dripping....
just relax and know that noone has to go bankrupt anymore from any pre-existing conditions
you dont have to tell them you went to a prostitute eigher, talk it up like you were some stud out on the town.

Calm down everyone. It is a valid concern. For good protection, a condom is recommended. But, if it breaks, don't freak out; just go shower with a lot of soap and water. Make it a twosome in the shower if you want. With the modern soaps, cleaned quickly and completely, most of the threat is washed away (for the guys more than the girls). Even with a severe wound that is taken in a very dirty environment, much of the threat is removed when the wound is thoroughly cleaned. The infection comes later when the bacteria are allowed time to grow.
I have had a broken condom several times, once with no place to clean up immediately. So I cleaned up with a bottle of whiskey. The alcohol sterilized the area quite nicely and allowed time to get to a shower. Be careful, the alcohol can sting the genital area.
For the ladies, your great grandmothers probably had a six pack of 8 ounce Coka-Cola. Shake the bottle hard, pop the cap while holding your thumb over the top, and insert into the vagina for a power washout with fizz. The carbonic acid (instead of vinegar -5% acetic acid) served as both a cleanser and a spermicide. Not the best method by modern medicine, but the knowledge of the time indicated that it worked better than nothing. Do a regular douche when you get home to remove the sugars.
The point, clean up promptly by anyway you can.

Those two paragraphs are the most ignorant ones I've seen to date on here. Soap and water is going to wash away most of the threat of a STD?
And you got your medical license where?
The whiskey and soap/water didn't do jack, you just got lucky and met up with chicks who were clean.

The chances of catching an std in the Kc metro are relatively low. If someone knowingly has an std and passes it on that is a serious crime. Yes wear a condom, but don't live your life in fear over something that is 90% curable and 10% manageable. No one, I say again no one makes it out of life alive. So fuck as much as you can while you can. It won't be long and we will all be sitting around slobbering on ourselves so enjoy your time in the sun.

Say,
I know you don't like me, but I don't care. However, my qualifications would surprise you. Alcohol, of any type, will help to sterilize the skin before the bacteria enter through the skin. I will not go into all the types of alcohol that do the best job, or the required percentage strength of alcohol. But a 45% strength ethyl alcohol (90 proof whiskey, vodka, or etc.) will do a very good job with repeated applications, even if not the best. Rubbing alcohol is usually 70% isopropyl alcohol, and is better, even if not drinkable. If you want to know how alcohols work on bacteria you always have google. How lucky are you kids today to have so much information readily available. We had to spend hours, days, months, and years in the library reading the books.
Soap and water is the first step in cleaning prior to many medical procedures. Don't think for a second it is complete, but it isn't jack shit either.
By the way, this was about if you break a condom; it was stated that further actions should be taken later.
There is nothing wrong with washing, even repeated washing many times a day if one has exposure. When I handled patients a long time ago, we washed before and after each one, every time. But way back then, we didn't have the disposable gloves that feel like condoms. Those gloves, in a way, scare me because I have seen people dispose of the gloves, and put new ones on without washing. Bad idea.
For some procedures, I have showered several times a day because it is recommended.
I still wash my hands before, several times during, and after any food preparation because it is the required procedure; it is not a phobia, it is the requirement even if some cooks ignore it.

I'm not sure about your qualifications JR but alcohol does not sterilize skin, it disinfects it (and remains one of the best agents we have for surgical prep). It will reduce any microbes in the area and might as a result prevent an infection. However, once exposure has occurred, washing with soap and water and using alcohol is likely to not matter. Additionally, you're not going to be able to flush the urethra with alcohol and any microbes there would remain and do their work.

And it works both ways. I've never once had a civilian girlfriend suggest that we use a condom, even the first time. Most of the time it is either ignored, but occasionally I've been asked "Have you done it without a condom with anyone else?" or "Are you clean?"
I've had strippers attempt to stick it in during a lap dance. I've had masseuses attempt to put it in during a body rub. I've met escorts who thought that "GFE" meant bareback. I've met semi-pro/UTR ladies who would ask for the condom sometimes and then forget about it other times, or forget about it after I saw them a few times.
Did I always stop and insist on a condom? Nope, I'm not that strong. Most of the time, of course I do. But every once in a while I'll be too drunk, or horny, or just not willing to insist. But I understand the risks and I get myself checked.

JR,
My comment has nothing to do with whether I like you or not. Its about the statements you made.
The best advice anyone could give if the condom breaks is this:
"Go to the doctor within the next 48 hrs and tell the doctor the condom broke and you're not sure if your partner has an STD or not. Your doctor will tell you what to do from there."
The ladies shouldn't work until she's checked out by a doctor and the guy shouldn't be intimate with anyone including his SO until he's seen a doctor.

This seems like the closest thing to the truth anyone has said on this thread.

You and I are totally on the same page. People get drunk and horny and stuff happens. Usually with no ill effects. I'm skeptical about everyone here stating they'd NEVER have sex without a condom. And that they actually believe they're in a monogamous relationship when they're here sleeping with people for money.
It's all good though, but you and I know what goes on in the real world.

Truer words have never been spoken. It happens...not smart, but it happens. It's not horribly disgusting as some providers have said (Oh my God! Semen inside the pussy!!) Anyway, people just need to get tested if it happens. Hopefully, we'll all survive this.

I guess JR's point is it's better than nothing, but research has pretty well established it is nothing--unless you're living in 1873, in which case you think you took care of it, but didn't.

What will you do if you can get a vaccine to prevent HIV infection in five years but HPV, HSV and the bacterial STDs are still out there? Will you get vaccinated, get a vasectomy, and start barebacking?
