bullshit ... policy prices wouldnt vary in the least ..

if you were able to go over a state line and buy an insurance policy the agent would simply tell you to go home and buy a policy or sell you a policy adjusted for the area you live in, and for no less than the same price ...

you live in Miami ... you drive to Mississippi and expect to pay the same rate you would if you live in Bumfuck?

you kids just dont get it do you.

you said it yourself

" " " Each state approves the policies that can be offered in their state. They aren't the same policies from state to state " " "

now would you care to explain how driving to Bumfuck Mississippi and buying a policy that that would cover you if you lived in Miami Florida would be any cheaper if you simply bought the same policy from an agent in Miami .... yanno, since you understand insurance so damn well?

Im waiting ................

The issue was that allowing policies to be sold across state lines would increase competition and lower prices. That is still a fact. The policies would change to reflect the new freedom.

Gawd, you're an idiot. That's not calling names, that's stating a fact. You've got to be one of the dumbest people on this board, and that is a high bar to meet.

driving 300 miles across a state line to buy the same policy for the same coverage in the same city would lower the price of the same policy .. and you honestly believe that?

wow ......

You intentionally don't get it. Done with you. Post what you want, think what you want. The facts are as they are. You don't get it.

Why don't you go have a battle of wits with a box of rocks? My money is on the box.

In CJs world, Amazon can't compete because NOBODY would ever order a book or CD from them, after all they live thousands of miles away.

It would be stupid of Shopper Joe to be drive to Seattle, right ?

news flash !!! health insurance isnt a book or a loaf of bread.

health insurance has people that make decisions that have a direct effect to the coverage, like Dr's and Insurance companys ...

what fucking part of that escapes you whirlie?

His point is that a person can shop all over the US for a policy that offers the features and benefits he wants at a price he is willing to pay without leaving their house. Of course insurance companies will take into consideration the costs of healthcare in the region the insured lives in but the ability to reduce their overhead by not having to deal with 50 regulatory agencies and the vastly more competitive environment will lower costs.

PS - CJ7 if you are an actuary convince me I am wrong. If not, start studying.

That's not true in all cases. Under current law, you have to be uninsured for six months before you can get in per-existing condition pools, a risk that I'm not willing to take.
