Then what is the point of this thread? If you are already doing something that works for you and disagree with everything others post, then are you trying to convince everyone else they are doing this the wrong way?

I can only afford to go to a AA game when they have special promotions like Ugly Sweater Night or Pre-planned Funeral Night.

Dude, I can't afford A or even Rookie League. I play Pizza League. I drive past the dumpster of a pizza place after closing and dig out some of their old uncooked pizza dough that they had to throw out at the end of the night. I take it home, pop open a Natty Light from the fridge and fuck as many of the warm yeasty lumps of 86'ed pizza dough as I can muster a nut to pop off into. Then I do what I like to call a Pillsbury Doughboy abortion and toss the filthy mess in the trashcan. I know should use a rubber to avoid a yeast infection but, screw it, I go bareback. Live a little, I say!
BTW. Does anybody know if it's safe to use tough actin' Tinactin on the old family jewels? Will it burn if it gets in your pee-hole? I'm asking for a friend.

Now that's why we love Carl.
Every week it seems someone has starts a thread with a goal of asshattery, douchbaggery, skullduggery, shennanigans, bamboozlement, j-holery, or what I like to call wankerism. Somewhat predictably, Sophia will attempt to put it in some kind of sane context though I worry about her head exploding at some point.
So anyhow, color me between the lines with Sophia and others who naively think this hobby is not nearly as treacherous as some like to portray it. Almost always when peril befall us it is due to some act of dipshittery on our own part. Get P411 and a hobby phone.

And if I were an agency owner how would that change the cogency of my argument?
Still waiting to hear some rebuttals. I hear only personal attacks, and repeats that I shouldn't hobby if I don't do it your way.
The big boys screen their providers because they're careful in going about this, not because they're spending more. Anyone can do it.
Motorcycles and ponytails --- I mentioned because they are emblemmatic. The obvious character, or lack of it, of the Wildflowers guy was glaringly obvious at first meeting. Been a lot reported about him elsewhere also. Did I out him? Never gave his real name, just safety information which I should put in the alerts.

You're right. Your agency status has no baring on the validity of your argument. But cogency? huh? Where was the cogency? What was your argument?
That if you give out your full legal name to providers and agencies then they should return the favor?
I think several people mentioned an easy solution to the various nightmare scenarios you envisioned. Here's a quick summary: Don't give out your name or any personal info. Screen by reading reviews and alerts. Use a hobby phone. Use a hobby email. And grow a pair.

No arguments about Max. But it's funny. Most of the people I've met who ride motorcycles fit into the generic suburban male with six figure income and a midlife crisis category. One time I talked to about 10 different people when I was bored at the ROT rally, hoping to learn something exciting about the ruff 'n tuff biker culture and I couldn't find a single one of them that wasn't staying at a 4 star hotel. Lawyers, doctors, business executives, etc... Harleys cost a pretty penny.

I've long been a proponent of accurate information being available to members for a lot of years.
If someone is truly on parole for for a felony offense then they already have a LE presence in their life on a regular basis.
They are not afforded the same protections someone not on parole is. Their world is an open book at any time any LE wants to screw with them for the most part.
They, their cars, their homes etc are subject to search at any time typically as a condition of parole..... No warrants... No Probable cause......
So given the choice of doing business with someone that is known to be on parole vs others that are not it would be wise for the informed hobbyist or working lady to choose to do business with someone else.....
Or so you would think?

Try opening your eyes; reading instead of listening.
The big boys screen their providers because they're careful in going about this, not because they're spending more. Anyone can do it.
So you recant your Can't Screen Indy's foolishness? Good.
Motorcycles and ponytails --- I mentioned because they are emblematic.

Used an agent who intimidated you (albeit for good reason) as an argument for agencies and against independents; oops.
If you have a reputation to protect, and you're not a fool, then know who you're doing business with.
Never use independents for that reason.
So this would be your first error, conflating independents with strangers. They live in the same city as you. You can chat with them online, meet them at socials, et cetera.
Do this with a stranger? Get caught? Hidden cameras? Getting ripped-off isn't the worst thing that can happen. A girl or her madam turn rat on you? Blackmail maybe?
This would be your second error, conflating doing it with a stranger with bad consequences; they are possible but not inevitable.
Better to avoid crooks, and stupid humiliation, when you can satisfy the urge intelligently.
You're a crook. You are a criminal committing criminal acts by hobbying.
For the slam-bam go to a madam, or a service. My Papa showed me this way. Introduce yourself to the manager. Look her/him straight in the eye and offer them your hand to shake. Shake theirs firmly and continue looking at them in the eye. Find out who they are, and what they do, because they know who you are.
You can introduce yourself, make eye contact, shake hands, et cetera with an independent too, of course.
Don't do business with low-lifes, crooks, cons, scum-bags, anyone in trouble with the law, or anyone who doesn't want you to know who they are.
You're conflating scofflaws (like you and me) with the privacy minded, and, at the other end, dangerous people; tut.
This is counter to all that I see here in Austin, and on the internet so far.
Never gotten an invitation to a social? I can't imagine why not....
Am I wrong? Why?
Yes you are. One measure of intelligence is the number and quality of distinctions you make. You conflate big categories repeatedly in this post; consider.
Did you see the rebuttals that time, or do I need to use a larger font for you?

Hmmmm...let's see, ponytail, motorcycle, emblematic.......Here is a local Austin celebrity that certainly refutes that statement...

Well, in the interest of full disclosure and transparency to the community I have to admit that sometimes people tell me that they thought I was Joe King or Justin Sane . But, sadly, they're mistaken. Hugh Janus, that's me.
