Yep, went just this past weekend. Don't wear "body armor" per se, but I did have on my plate carrier with plates with my loadout.

There is a distinction between "legal advice" and posting exerpts from laws and cases interpreting those laws .... exerpts laws and cases interpreting those laws is not "my opinion" or "my advice" ... it is simply posting information that is publicly available ... but is not posted ...

But you assume you have more than I. Experience has informed me that I should never underestimate the level of training and experience of another. You do.

This made me chuckle a hell of a lot more than the last time.

Underestimating the opponent is a grave mistake many (so called "vets") are making on this board.

Back on topic....I'm wondering whether the shooter underestimated or overestimated himself...

Impartial, accurate self-evaluation is challenging, if not unattainable, in normal people, but it is not to be expected among those who already have difficulty with identifying reality.

Since he invaded a movie theater full of seemingly helpless and ill-equipped people, including children, I would say in his distorted, sick mind he "underestimated" his "ability" as evidenced by wearing "protective" gear ....

... but had he pulled that "stunt" at the police department I would say "overestimated"!

I think there were questions on the table and raised from early news reports. I don't think anyone on here is suggesting directions on how to proceed with the investigation ... some might be curious about overall security issues with movie theaters ... the Israelis, et al, are!

If I have to pass thru a metal detector to go see a movie I'm going to see far fewer movies. I don't think this shit would happen in Texas just like I don't think a hijacker is going to hit a Southwest Airlines flight out of Texas. Just too many pissed off armed rednecks.

Its unfair to cite incidences before the conceal carry law was passed. Which by the way was pushed thru the Texas legislature by the daughter of a man who was slain at that Luby's. The army guys at Ft Hood have (most) of their weapons taken away, except for the shooter.
