Yep, went just this past weekend. Don't wear "body armor" per se, but I did have on my plate carrier with plates with my loadout.

There is a distinction between "legal advice" and posting exerpts from laws and cases interpreting those laws .... exerpts laws and cases interpreting those laws is not "my opinion" or "my advice" ... it is simply posting information that is publicly available ... but is not posted ...

and it has nothing to do with me promoting any image of myself ... good or bad.

For instance, if I were giving out "legal advice" my advice would be to refrain from posting one's expertise at handling firearms in "live-fire" scenarios and boasting of one's prowess and skill in applying their firearms in given situations. Just for instance.

But like a lot of locker rooms, figuratively speaking of course, the testosterone levels tend to overpower the brain cell levels and the result is often unfortunate.

For instance, you don't have a clue as to how much training and/or experience I may have in entering and clearing buildings of various heights, sizes, content, and/or configuration with "live targets" purportedly and reportedly inside. But you assume you have more than I. Experience has informed me that I should never underestimate the level of training and experience of another. You do.

Now, I intend to get back on topic, which I prefer over discussing "you."

Why didn't the shooter just ask the theater manager for his money back for the shitty film?

Because he wouldn't be qualified for a court appointed attorney, if got a refund?

This made me chuckle a hell of a lot more than the last time.

Underestimating the opponent is a grave mistake many (so called "vets") are making on this board.

Back on topic....I'm wondering whether the shooter underestimated or overestimated himself...

Impartial, accurate self-evaluation is challenging, if not unattainable, in normal people, but it is not to be expected among those who already have difficulty with identifying reality.

Since he invaded a movie theater full of seemingly helpless and ill-equipped people, including children, I would say in his distorted, sick mind he "underestimated" his "ability" as evidenced by wearing "protective" gear ....

... but had he pulled that "stunt" at the police department I would say "overestimated"!

If I have to pass thru a metal detector to go see a movie I'm going to see far fewer movies. I don't think this shit would happen in Texas just like I don't think a hijacker is going to hit a Southwest Airlines flight out of Texas. Just too many pissed off armed rednecks.

Yea, you're right gad ...

http://www.chron.com/life/article/Shooting-rampage-at-Killeen-Luby-s-left-24-dead-2037092.php

and then there was ... Fort Hood .... as in on a military base ....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Fl..._Fort_Hood.jpg

That's the local special weapons folks scurrying to "back up" the Army!

... and I will never forget the UT Tower "sniper" ....

Oh, #1 some theaters already had them ... and #2 it seems the shooter in Colorado didn't bring his "stuff" through the front door where one would normally find a detector.

Oswald and Whitman both marine trained snipers.

Its unfair to cite incidences before the conceal carry law was passed. Which by the way was pushed thru the Texas legislature by the daughter of a man who was slain at that Luby's. The army guys at Ft Hood have (most) of their weapons taken away, except for the shooter.
