Incorrect!
His draft position "dictated his worth"!
Read post 44. At least 3 times.

Sheesh, just take a timeout and regroup. This destroys your whole narrative.

Fields is making between what a high end backup and a low end starter makes. His first round status means nothing.
Here, I posted it on this page to make it easier for you.

Justin Fields is, not, ... "a legit starter"!
His losing record of 6-25 as QB of the Bears ... reflects this!
(How a QB with a record of 6-25 can get a $30 Mil guaranteed contract ... is beyond me!)
I musta missed the memo!

Shady McCoy has been throwing a lot of shade at Fields, too. And not just recently. Says the kid can't play. He seems to be right.

Yeah, Woody might start Tyrod Taylor. Who threw 2 interceptions in the second half last week. I guess he’ll throw him under the bus too!

That’s why he’s making 15 million a year and Jackson is being paid 50 mill a year. And, Jackson was drafted lower than Fields.

So, after 5 or so years in the NFL, you’re paid on your current production, not your draft status. Brock Purdy was the last player drafted, Mr Irrelevant. He’s making 53 million a year. Is he being paid according to his draft status?
Brock Purdy had to pay his dues and prove himself before he signed his big contract with guaranteed money!
(Not so for Justin Fields!)
Even though he never won a goddamn thing ... Justin Fields (by virtue of his draft position) was never was a minimum-wage player and had to prove himself!
Brock Purdy was a minimum-wage QB for 4 years!
How many minimum-wage QBs have taken their team to a Super Bowl?
(Justin Fields would sell his soul to the devil ... if he could have Brock Purdy's success!)
Justin Fields is on the cusp of having the dubious distinction of QBing an 0-17 team!
Reality Awaits for the $30,000,000 man!

I wonder if anybody could possibly explain how ... after experiencing a modicum of success (in an otherwise unremarkable, disappointing dud of a career) ... when "no game" Justin Fields had the Steelers at 4-2 ... why did Mike Tomlin bench him?
Why did Mike Tomlin bench the $30,000,000 man!
(Inquiring minds would like to know!)

Why does Tomlin have the highest paid defense and they stink? He admitted he was the only one in the building that wanted to bench him. Including the players. He should have listened

Ya think Mike Tomlin might know a little somethin' about evaluating QB talent?
Ya think MT might recognize a QB with bona-fide, Super-Bowl talent (see Ben Roethlisberger)?
Ya think?
Why did Mike Tomlin pull the plug on a QB who had his team at 4-2?
Obviously MT was not sufficiently impressed with the skill set of the $30,000,000 man!
Michael Tomlin saw Justin Field's ceiling!
That's why he benched him!
(He said to himself: "I don't care that he was drafted 11th overall ... I don't care that somebody's gunna guarantee him $30,000,000! Justin Fields ain't got the right stuff! Justin Fields can't take the Steelers to The Promised Land!)
That's what really happened!

He knows nothing about QB talent. He drafted Pickett in the first round. Then ruined him. He rode Ben for 18yrs. If it wasn’t for Ben, Tomlin would’ve been on TV years ago. If you’re hanging your hat on Tomlins brilliance you’re farther gone than I thought you were.

Think about this: Mike Tomlin saw 1st hand a QB worth every penny; he saw a QB who could take the Steelers to The Promised Land!
He looked at underperforming, overrated, overpaid Justin Fields and said: "The Steelers are better off with a Jurassic Park 41 year old QB ... than this dud!"

And they promptly lost 6 in a row down the stretch!!!!! Great move Coach T!!!!! You’re making my point. But here’s the kicker, Tomlin let Wilson walk and offered Fields a contract. You can’t make this shit up!!!! I’ll just let you blather. It’s good for a laugh.

Just remember not to forget to place this footnote in the $30,000,000 man's NFL resume: NFL talent evaluators (who have won Super Bowls), had seen enough, and determined that at the age of 25... the 11th overall pick in the 2021 draft had a feeble QB skill set ...and decided that his team would be improved by replacing him with a 41 year old museum piece!
(They determined that the $30,000, 000 QB lacked the skills to elevate his team ... and make the players around him better!)

Who cares? Fields got a 30 mill guaranteed contract. That’s low for a starting QB in the NFL. You can’t bullshit your way out of that. He didn’t get a dime more because he was a first rounder. The threads about the doofus owner. The Jets haven’t been to a Super Bowl since 10yrs before you were born. Even the great Aaron Rodgers couldn’t win more than 4 games there. It doesn’t matter who their QB is. Keep chasing your tail.

The thread's also about Fields getting thrown under the bus, deservedly. He has been abysmal
