"Anonymous takes down CIA site, exposes Ala. personal data"

"Hackers claiming affiliation with Anonymous are taking credit for taking down the CIA's public site, exposing personal data from Alabama court records and pilfering e-mails from the Mexican mining agency, according to news reports. Other hackers hit the United Nations' site.

"The CIA main site (cia.gov) is unavailable and apparently has been down for several hours as the result of a distributed-denial-of-service attack. A spokesman told CNN the agency was "looking into these reports." There's no indication hackers penetrated CIA computers or accessed sensitive information."

"5.6 million fingerprints stolen in U.S. personnel data hack: government"

Hackers who stole security clearance data on millions of Defense Department and other U.S. government employees got away with about 5.6 million fingerprint records, some 4.5 million more than initially reported, the government said on Wednesday.

"The additional stolen fingerprint records were identified as part of an ongoing analysis of the data breach by the Office of Personnel Management and the Department of Defense, OPM said in a statement. The data breach was discovered this spring and affected security clearance records dating back many years.

"The news came just ahead of a state visit to Washington by Chinese President Xi Jinping. U.S. officials have privately blamed the breach on Chinese government hackers, but they have avoided saying so publicly.

"President Barack Obama has said cybersecurity will be a major focus of his talks with Xi at the White House on Friday. The United States has told China that industrial espionage in cyberspace by its government or proxies is "an act of aggression that has to stop," Obama said recently."

Who was President in 2015? Oh, speaking of 2015!

So, Vermont Electric is working with the administration to pull off a scam?

Is the state police of Vermont in on the scam as well? You and LL are full of SH*T.

Burlington Electric said in a statement that the company detected a malware code used in the Grizzly Steppe operation in a laptop that was not connected to the organization’s grid systems. The firm said it took immediate action to isolate the laptop and alert federal authorities.
Friday night, Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin (D) called on federal officials “to conduct a full and complete investigation of this incident and undertake remedies to ensure that this never happens again.”
“Vermonters and all Americans should be both alarmed and outraged that one of the world’s leading thugs, Vladimir Putin, has been attempting to hack our electric grid, which we rely upon to support our quality-of-life, economy, health, and safety,” Shumlin said in a statement. “This episode should highlight the urgent need for our federal government to vigorously pursue and put an end to this sort of Russian meddling.”
Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) said he was briefed on the attempts to penetrate the electric grid by Vermont State Police on Friday evening. “This is beyond hackers having electronic joy rides — this is now about trying to access utilities to potentially manipulate the grid and shut it down in the middle of winter,” Leahy said in a statement. “That is a direct threat to Vermont and we do not take it lightly.”

However he acquired his expertise it's only appropriate that he share his credentials for the public to judge is credibility on the subject matter. The media won't inquire. Go figure.

What I don't believe is that Russia is our enemy per se. Russia is our "rival" in that we both are Super Powers of the world and with Russia now being a democracy (maybe not as we know/like democracy, but a democracy nonetheless) and with the Communist party of The People's Republic of China forging ahead very quickly, if we Super Powers of the Western World don't unite, there is no doubt that China, with a population of 1.381billion people, is the most populous country in the world (Wikipedia) it also has the fastest growing economy in the world (thanks in large part to the USA) China is a recognized nuclear weapons state and has the world's largest standing army and second-largest defense budget (Wikipedia).

IMHO, the best hope for both Russia and the United States, and for the safety and security of the world at large, is for this rivalry to end, and cooperation to begin. Something, I think liberals can't seem to comprehend?

Addendum: we of the western world also need to come together to battle ISIS and now Iran because we cannot be naive as to think that they are not using the money we gave them to build their nuclear arsenal which some are now saying is upwards of 33.6 billion dollars and that folks is a lot of mullah (yes, pun intended).

Zero. The answer to your question was in the link that was provided in post #1. From the link:

While the Russians did not actively use the code to disrupt operations, according to officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a security matter, the discovery underscores the vulnerabilities of the nation’s electrical grid. And it raises fears in the U.S. government that Russian government hackers are actively trying to penetrate the grid to carry out potential attacks.

The problem with the Bush worshipers on here is that the Washington Post is only credible when it prints something that they like.

Mr "Anonymity" again.

This has become the mantra of the "fake news" propagators on the left. Just print any tripe you want and attribute your source to someone who has to be kept anonymous.

In other words.........."Trust us, we are, after all, the Media"

1. The coalition forces took Fallucia from ISIS back in June 2016. Link was already posted. Just do a search on "coalition" and you will find it. The coalition forces are in the process of kicking ISIS out of Masol as we speak. The coalition forces have recovered over 45% of the land that was held by ISIS in January 2016.

2. Iran is not going to build a nuclear weapon without the Isotope of Uranium called U-235. To summarize the agreement with Iran. Iran got rid of a majority of their U-235 and in return the USA gave them back THEIR money. Iraq also had to deactivate their most efficient centerfuges, the facility where they are housed is monitored in real-time 24/7. Iran is not going to build a nuclear bomb for quite some time. It's just not possible. The concentration of the U-235 isotope in the ground is .008 %. You need a concentration of 20% to build a bomb like the one used in Hiroshima, Japan (Fact Jack). In the link below DSK gave his approval of the deal. DSK would not approve an agreement that would hurt Israel.

3. Putkin who the Bush worshipers say is smarter than Obama signed off on the Iran nuclear deal before the USA did. (Fact Jack).

4. How can the agreement be a bad deal if Putkin signed off on it? It has been stated by the Bush worshipers that Putkin has been schooling Obama.

5. Cherie, you should go take a physics class and then come back and talk to us about the Iran deal.

And then this appears........

It seems "Mr Anonymity" strikes again.

We put up with this shit all through the election. "Somebody knew somebody who has a cousin that knows someone that thinks he might have some dirt that will cast Trump in a disparaging light".

Yeh.

It was a laptop. I can take my work issued laptop out of the office and hook it up to my network at home and basically do what I want with it and bring it home. The "cruisin for porn" is just one scenario. Do you know how Stuxnet was transmitted supposedly? Through a USB drive that had movies and mp3s on it along with the malware.

There's a couple of clues how I know this is a ruse.
1) Everyone has a (D) by their name
2) If Citibank is penetrated and loses millions of dollars, or is almost penetrated, they don't hold a press conference and say "We were ALMOST penetrated." It tells your adversaries and competitors too much.
3) You, fLiar65, are running around with a chicken with its head cut off spouting Obama's shit.

That you, a third class intellect at best, are calling other people "hillbillies" and think you know something about IT is absolutely side splittingly hilarious.

Default Thought so...Fake News, Fake President

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...=.670623a537c1

As federal officials investigate suspicious Internet activity found last week on a Vermont utility computer, they are finding evidence that the incident is not linked to any Russian government effort to target or hack the utility, according to experts and officials close to the investigation.

An employee at Burlington Electric Department was checking his Yahoo email account Friday and triggered an alert indicating that his computer had connected to a suspicious IP address associated by authorities with the Russian hacking operation that infiltrated the Democratic Party. Officials told the company that traffic with this particular address is found elsewhere in the country and is not unique to Burlington Electric, suggesting the company wasn’t being targeted by the Russians. Indeed, officials say it is possible that the traffic is benign, since this particular IP address is not always connected to malicious activity.

How about if you take a spelling class instead of being such a condescending asshole? You misspelled Fallujah, Mosul, and Putin (3 times) all in one post. Nice job, flighty!

By the way, it's not hard to figure out why Putin was so eager to sign off on the Iran nuclear deal. Don't you pay attention? Before the ink was dry, Putin was meeting with Qasem Soleimani (google the name if you don't know who he is) so they could coordinate Russia's massive supply of weapons to Hezbollah and the other Shiite/Iranian militias in Syria to help keep Assad in power. He also dispatched dozens of Russian planes and hundreds of pilots to Latakia, so they could bomb the fuck out of the Syrian rebels and civilians who were abandoned and betrayed by Obama. Putin waited until after the Iranian nuke deal was in place precisely because he knew that would make it harder for Obama to protest this intervention on behalf of his and Tehran's client in Damascus.

Just another example of Pooty-Poot outplaying Obama big-time in the Middle East. Everyone in that part of the world got the message loud and clear - Russia is a player who can be relied on to keep its word, while the US under Obama's feckless stewardship is weak, irresolute and has no credibility.

Fluffy trusts Iran but not Russia. I have never heard a Russian crowd shouting "Death to America". In fact, I have heard Putin practically plead for better relations with the US. Why can't we be allies with Russia? We have much more in common with them than we do, say, Saudi Arabia. And with China growing as a threat, it would be nice to maybe warm relations with Russia, and encourage Russia to cool relations with China.
