The long game here actually favors Trump. The Senate went solidly Republican, meaning all those conservative judges Chucky held up appointments on will now be seated. That takes the courts out of liberal hands for at least a generation. The two governorships Dems HAD to get (Florida and Ohio) to try to stop a Trump re-election went to Republicans. 9 of 11 candidates Trump actively campaigned for WON. Compared to Obama and Oprah going 0 - for the night. All that money and Dems BARELY got the House and now have a potential civil war on their hands with the Anti-Pelosi bunch. Compared to recent administrations, Trump did vey well in his midterm and seems set up well for 2020.

On the other side the Democrats' gubernatorial candidate has refused to concede she got beaten. I've not heard "the Russians" yet, but perhaps it was "the Martians"! Didn't Obaminable campaign for her? And Osprey too? They get a zero!

As a budget strategy, this over-reliance on the rich to pay for everyone else is very risky, since it means revenues drop precipitously each time there is a recession. If the state's GDP shrinks by 5%, its revenues contract by a multiple of that amount and the state budget swings massively into deficit.

Trust me, I've looked at the numbers.

Trumpy's tax reform now limits the deductibility of state taxes on federal tax returns to $10k. As a result, rich people in high-tax states like CA and NY will see their overall tax burdens jump dramatically in 2018.

It's kind of hard to flee to a low-tax state while keeping your lucrative high-tech job if you work in Silicon Valley.
The trick is to keep your residence in Texas, and your vacation house in California. Just can't live more of the time in California.

LexusLover -Yes, I'm surprised she lost, actually. She wasn't very pretty or friendly, though. Had she looked like Tyra Banks in her early twenties, she would have won.

I'm not sure if they have got into the "hanging chads" phase yet, but she ain't conceding.

Oprah/Obama laid it on the line for her. Big losers.

I like what President Trump said today. Abrams had all the celebrities, Oprah, President Obama, and the news media on her side,

Kemp had him! Classic.

She has a slight chance to get into a runoff - where she would definitely have a 50/50 shot. If the mail in ballots came from African American precincts, she might get the runoff. They haven't all been counted yet, but she needs a miracle.

That would suck if she wins that Governor seat. The Republicans need everything they can get.

Give it a rest
If you knew all that you should have said something to the people who might have considered your version. That's not going to happen now.
Bad timing on your part and a lack of interest following your leads on their part

Besides, you don't want to know what happened. It might clash with what you say happened.

Let's go with that "see where the evidence leads/ no leak the leads" kind of investigation.

John Brennan is up to his ears in this scandal. I want to know the full story about how that commie partisan hack orchestrated the whole thing. Lock him up! Lock him up!

The American public is pissed off and wants to know what the fuck happened!

The Trump re-election does not depend on Ohio and Florida. It depends on him holding onto Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, 3 states that were traditionally Democratic before 2016. 48 electoral votes. 306 - 48 = 258. 232 + 48 = 280.

And last night in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania Democrats won all 3 Senate races, 2 by double digits and the other by 6 points. And Democrats won all 3 Governor races in those states. Trump's current approval ratings in those 3 states are -10, -9 and -6.

2 years is a long way off and things can change drastically in that length of time. And Trump has shown he can win elections. I'm sure we'll all be discussing this ad infinitum in the next 24 months.

I am sensing a lot of panic.

Worst thing about shitting bricks is that sometimes you don’t survive it.

I wouldn't call going from a 51-49 majority to a 52-46 majority (with 2 independents) 'solidly republican'.

I disagree. Unless 3 Republicans break ranks, it’s a party line vote.

The wavering Republicans are GONE! RIP and Goodbye!

Those Democrats with close calls have six-years to make amends.

Your correct. Everyone who can't afford to live on the West coast is now moving to Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. That's what's going to turn Texas Blue.

Now that I'm visiting the Great State of Texas, I notice a lot of total assholes are keeping their "Beto" stickers on their shitty little cars.

I roll down my window and tell them "Beto" lost and flip them off!!

Great fucking fun!!
