There was an article in the Houston Press about the bust:

This is the only ck1942 posting right here. And I had no knowledge of the Houston Press article until I saw it referenced here a minute ago.

I did not post that comment, and likely (let him speak for himself) neither did Deuce Bigalow.

Lots of ways to spoof any "handle" anywhere as we all know.

It is very unfortunate that those mugs and names appear before ANY trial and certainly any conviction or plea bargain.

But "freedom of the press" obviously outweighs "innocent until proven guilty."

Home2 was initally set up to accommodate M&G members and staff (and not just of aspd, btw) who were having communications issues with the major hiccups at aspd the last few months of 2008.

As 2008 ended, staff at aspd started some extensive discussion which went into the beginning of 2009 regarding how best to handle a board shut down. We determined that the continued outages were detrimental to the members of the community.

Home2 stepped up and offered to allow registrations beyond the M&G list. aspd staff discussed and accepted the offer without any dissent.

Significant discussions at aspd were held in the staff forum. Amber not only knew about these but was sent, by me, links to the threads, and so was her step dad FJBT. We also spoke on the phone at the end of December and into January.

Staff at aspd agreed in those discussions that it would be prudent to notify entire groups of members (providers, bcd classes and leading posters) that home2 was available and invitations were mailed, pm'd and otherwise in mid-January.

All registrations of staff members at http://Home2.invisionzone.com were made by the individual staff members.

At that time, the forum index was expanded considerably -- and yes, it mirrored aspd -- intentionally, to assist new members with a bit of comfort zone. Bad enough to learn a new board operation much less new forum navigation. We would have used the ASPD green had it been available.

Most of the staff registered at Home2 well before the Feb. 8 Hack/Crash. Something like 2/3s.

19 staff members registered before 15 Jan 09. Some never registered until well after the Crash and the recovery fwiw.

No staff member in any discussion at aspd or via email objected to Home2 being used for general populations.

By the day of the crash, 08 Feb., 824 members (including staff) were on board.

The days and weeks following Crash day saw total membership hit 5,943 and most of those members were validated in with whatever profile (bcd, provider, GT, etc.) they had at aspd. Bandwidth had to be adjusted several times along the way up to that point.

From there Home2 was more or less dormant, even including when I fired Dec. 11 as one of the 14 or 17 admins at aspd. No, I never claimed to run the joint, nor anything else. All of the staff there had a very collegial attitude; we consulted on almost everything of importance. Arbitrary decisions regarding individuals for the most part were left to the city forum mods.

As noted, not much going on at Home2 until the decision was made that providers no longer could post nudes, prices or services.

At that point Home2 began sending out emails to its members. ITS MEMBERS resident in the Home2 data base, starting with providers, reminding them that Home2 remained open and available should they wish to use it.

Apparently that was viewed as a "treacherous act" and I was banned at aspd.

When the threats about closing aspd escalated, the entire Home2 active member email list was energized and mail went to all registered members there. If that is "theft," then I stand indicted and convicted.

And if that is theft, then how should I treat the 54K aspd members resident in my personal email who I served at the rate of something like 20K per year in 2007-2008-2009. Not to mention the thousands more in my previous email account from 2002 through 2006?

Yes, many of those incoming emails came via Support, but as all here will understand, outgoing mail addresses are automatically added to the address book by most email clients, including mine.

Should I reserve those names to obscurity, or do I owe them, as members of the greater community, an invite to Home2.

Do boards own members or do they owe members?

The other 7,003 members now on Home2 can speak for themselves.

My vote is for OWE!
