Im in my late 20s, i am reasonably fit and good looking but I have zero "game" or desire to spend hours meeting girls or going to a club hoping for a one night stand every time. Eventually when i decide i want to settle down it will be a different story, but for now Id much rather open my wallet, pay up and go about the rest of my weekday nights and weekends hanging out with friends or working out etc.

Plus, there is something to be said about variety, isnt that right?. I dont know what I would do but I want to know your opinion as hobbyists: would you continue to hobby even if you had a crazy hot girlfriend who likes sex and does BBBJ, CIM, greek, the whole deal?. Maybe not at the beginning, but eventually? Is 'variety' a big part of why we hobby?

I have gotten the impression from the boards that certain guys repeatedly go with the same girl for years, so I would assume not everyone would agree with my previous speculative statement.

Thanks Darth. I'm fortunate that I inherited good genes, and don't look my age, but yeah, I'll be 74 in December. It's a big ego boost, to be hit on by girls who could be my granddaughters.

Im on the same boat as you OP, im in great shape and im always complemented on my looks and such. I can get it for free as well, my wife is awesome, we do whatever I want and such. but I must say im a sex addict. i have sex with my wife a MINIMUM of 3 times a day. and i like paying for it for the pure thrill of it... i guess it is like drug to a drug addict. it is just the thought of "breaking the law" that really gives me the rush. i always get this adrenaline rush as soon as i set up the meeting. so technically im an adrenaline junkie.

but yeah marriage is expensive man. once you sit and tally up the costs it becomes quite the list. i love my wife and because i love her i hide this other side of me from her. to me this is just meaningless sex, just a rush i go after, but it is far different when you are intimate with someone you do care about.. just my 2 cents

I am worried that my situation is becoming an addiction.. I used to shop at whole foods and now Its all Walmart Great value. Used to eat out 3 times a day with friends.. Now I stay home and eat TV dinners or something quick. I basically stopped spending money on any other type of luxury. Heck, i even try to get half hours instead of full hrs so I can save the 20-50$.

And I remember my very first encounter to the Hobby, it was an innocent massage at thai experience... It was so awkward and I had no idea what to do so I didnt even take my underwear off. The masseuse kept rubbing me down there but I was too nervous to do anything so i ignored her leads completely. It felt so wrong that I wanted to take a shower afterwards even though the HJ never happened.

Ive always been taking baby steps when it comes rto the hobby and the money never bothered me until now. I used to do $$$ 1-hr sessions because I probably had a session every three weeks only. But now I dont even consider it. Drove by LPII on at least four different occasions before I had the courage to go in. Spent endless amounts of time strolling bissonnet watching the cop car patterns before having the courage to pick up my first SW.. Had my fair share of backpage bait and switch until I found eccie..

I had to start forcing a portion of my paycheck to be put on a different account and max our my retirement plan in order to force me to continue saving money.and now that Ive graduated to p411, its all gone downhill.. Almost no risk, no hassle, and great supply..

Dude, seems like a confession and call for help. I am a recovering addict of a different sort and trust me, this almost always ends badly. If others, like kids, depend on your income you need to man up and discipline yourself. Beat off to free porn all you want, and you will be able to get help. I see a counselor for my other addiction (2 years sober, by the way) and he has a flyer for a sex addict group, it is pretty common. By the way - we are all big boys and girls, this is no place to preach. Do what you want, just my opinion. Good luck.

Mescolanza, if you are eating Ramen to save money for hobbying you are addicted. If you give up any normal activities to hobby you are addicted. If the only time you can afford to leave your house is to work or hobby you are addicted. That's not to say you are not addicted if you can afford the hobby and maintain your normal lifestyle but that's not your situation.

Im not eating ramen, i just end up cooking more and cutting back on most other luxuries. I havent actually given up any basic or even extended necessities and I am not planning to. I dont have anyone depending on me, its just me.
I realized I came off a bit dramatic; i am OK with my current situation and my finances are fine; ive just switched around my spending and allocated a lot more to hobbying than I used to.
I still go to the movies, dinner out every once in a while, etc like a normal guy. I just dont go to a bar and blow off 70$ anymore. Ive switched to blowing off that money for hobbying instead

My only concern is that I am not sure if it is because of the novelty of everything. Right now I am thinking it is, but I will think of taking some action if the situation gets worse over time.

Your posts have given me a lot to think about, though..

Trust me, if I had funds, time, and no kids I would hobby every freaking day and twice on Sunday. I will put out an iso if I win the lottery. My only other advice then is get an attorney on speed dial just in case, and the sw action is a terrible idea.
