No diagnosis. Only suggestions.

I suffered migraines when I was younger. You just want your head to explode so the pain will stop.

I see FireFighter hasn't logged on in a few days. Hope it wasn't an absorbed twin.

FireFighterCJ,

I used to get terrible sinus headaches that turned into migraines with throwing up, tunnel vision, sensitivity to light and the whole deal. About 15 years ago, a doctor friend of mine prescribed a brand name drug called Fiorinal. It was a combination of 50 mg of butalbital, 40 mg of caffeine and aspirin. Later, he switched it to Fioricet which substituted 325 mg of acetominophen for the aspirin. It absolutely works wonders.

When I feel ANY headache coming on, I take one of those tablets and it knocks out the headache within minutes. It works better and has fewer side effects than pain drugs like even the strongest hydrocodone. The only time I've had a migraine in the last 15 years was when I had forgotten to pack the Rx when I was on vacation in Colorado.

I got an altitude headache after skiing and it turned into a migraine. After a day of unbearable pain and throwing up AND even driving 30 miles to find a lower altitude hotel at around 7800 feet, I'd had enough and had the SO call my Texas doctor, who called a Colorado doctor who wrote me a prescription for a generic copy called Isocet. After a migraine gets started, at least with me, it doesn't go away and even with the prescription in Colorado it took about two more hours. That is why I take one at the slightest sign of a headache.

But after 48 hours of not being able to hold down food and lie in bed in a darkened room, the two hour wait on the medicine to work was nothing.

Any of you who suffer from those kind of headaches should look into that medication. The combination of those ingredients apparently helps the capillaries in the brain function normally again.

I sympathize with ANYONE who suffers like I did for years. That prescription was a Godsend. Now I may take only one or two a month at the slightest sign of a headache.

I would massage Frankie Fine's neck and temples for DAYS ON END if she needed it!
FFCJ, you're on your own there, buddy, but seriously check into the prescription drug I found that has made migraines a thing of the past for me.
