There's a "real person" factor that counts for more in this equation to me, and is far more important than whether can she do General Motors' taxes in her head or run on about anything from quantum mechanics to dead gay author's literary skills. There are providers without punctuation skills that are genuinely funny and full of perspective on life's buffeting bus ride, and there are seriously brilliant providers that I've seen in the past and except for the sex bit I'd rather have gone to the dentist.

Having said that, attractive "well spoken" providers that I figure I can get along with go to the top of the list. The unfortunate thing about this hobby is that you can't go to the provider section at Central Market and squeeze them, ask them questions and see who they are before you put them in your cart.

When I was younger, I could hold my own long enough that a solid conversation probably wasn't in the cards, so T & A won. I mean back then if they weren't drooling and could fog a mirror, I was there. Now...well, some convo is mandatory unless I want to pay for an hour and leave WAY early.

So to answer the OP's question, it's a shifting paradigm. Which is ambiguous at best, but it's an answer.

Yes, it makes a lot of difference for several reasons. First, smart people are just more likely to have their shit together. Better directions, more organized, less likely to no show, etc. Second, I enjoy 90 minute sessions. And I ain't fuckin' for much more than 20 or 30 minutes of that 90 minutes or 2 hours. Conversation during a back rub, etc. is important. Finally, if something goes wrong -- whether it involves a SO, and employer (neither of which I have), LE, of just any of the various annoyances of everyday life, the smarter girl is more likely to handle them well.

Brains trump beauty for me every time. But "brains" can mean street smart, worldly and well presented. An education counts for nothing, if the person wielding the diploma is socially inept or without the common sense to come in out of the rain.

About ten years ago, I met an amazingly good looking sales clerk while buying a watch at a local jeweler. In the negotiation and sales process, I chatted her up. She was single, and interested in having dinner. (By the way, she had the largest natural breasts I have ever encountered on a petite frame...DD)

So we're having dinner and drinks, and it's becoming apparent that brains aren't her strong suit. She mentioned the fact that her goal in life was to be a weather girl on television. So naturally I asked, "Do you have a degree in meteorology or broadcast media?" With a perfectly straight face, she replied "No, I've never been to college. But, with these boobs and this body I'm a natural!" The rest of the conversation became more painful as dinner progressed.

Not so much about 'smarts' as it is about common sense. I've been with some highly educated women who were dumber then a box of nails when it came to boinkin'. And then there are the ones who who wouldn't know Shakespeare from Seinfeld but could fuck like a porn star. In addition it's those common sense gals I'd prefer to be with if a situation ever went bad.

And I'll be frank ... (with the joke being you be Ernest) ... if the guy comes in and lays the money on the table, he can be a somewhat inarticulate beast (in fact, I might really like that!) and as long as we can at least communicate by grunts, hand signals and a few one syllable words, I'm fine with it.
