I wanted the opinions of both providers and clients in order to get different perspectives.
I know I am still fairly new to this, and have a few things to learn, but I dont appreciate being called "green". That statement sounds derrogetory.
I guess instead of coming to this board to seek the advice of my "co-workers" and "customers" in order to better myself as a provider, I will just keep my mouth shut in order to not be attacked and insulted.
Its unfortunate this board isnt a place where we can come and say whats on our minds freely, and without fear of being judged and talked down to.

Personally, I like to talk to a girl I haven't seen before, but that doesn't necessarily have to be at the start of the appointment. It could be by phone; actually, I prefer to do it by phone because it helps both of us know the others likes and dislikes as well as engaging the greatest sex organ of all, the brain. I find that 10-15 minutes of open conversation by phone beforehand accomplishes a lot of things:

• Helps us both to know the others expectations, likes, dislikes and boundaries;
• Some erotic discussion ahead of time can certainly "prime the pump" and add to the excitement and anticipation, which is always good;
• Helps us to get to know each others personalities a little;
• Avoids some awkwardness in the beginning by knowing what each other likes and having the nervousness or uncertainty replaced by anticipation and excitement;
• Allows for fulfilling requests for things like clothing, etc.

In other words, chatting by phone once the appointment is set can go a long ways towards a much better first appointment, at least for me.

Angel's thread took a detour somewhere. Based on her skills,experience,reviews and the epic stories my friends tell me,she is not "green". It seems she asked a legitimate question and one I saw firsthand. I have been with so many providers that attack me at the door(love ya Silly Girl), that I really rushed things with Angel the first time I saw her. I could tell it made her uncomfortable and I still feel like a dick to this day. Clearly,her style is a drink on the couch first as she provides a true gfe atmosphere. Now,once things get started,you better hang on,but her personal style is not to jump you as soon as the door closes.

I think you might be a lil sensitive on being called green. Its not an insult, its just stating that you're not a "seasoned escort" and may be in need of guidance. Hence you coming to the board asking your questions.

As I said, ladies run their business differently and what is good for one, may not be good for the other. Its how comfortable YOU are in doing what you choose to do.

Each client is different, some may want to talk, some may want to get right to business and some may want a drink. I gauge how I will act with my clients via phone/email.

I like a bit of mental stimulation before the main event. I think most of the gents like a bit of "get to know you" chit chat beforehand as well. At least in my experience.

As a client, I like a few minutes of get to know you first. I smoke so if the provider smokes, I'll usually offer to sit and have a smoke first. A few minutes of chatting usually helps both to relax. If they don't smoke, that's okay too. I'll just talk for a few minutes. It's just good manners, too!

Oh, I agree. The few times it's happened for me were when I was referred by a good friend of the provider or there was some other close connection. However, it IS possible to be playful and communicate quite a bit of information without being overly explicit, which is part of the fun for me as well.

Otherwise, I prefer to have that visit upon the first meeting.
