I pay in advance, although with a regular the timing is completely irrelevant. Pay in advance is what almost all ladies request, so I view this as part of the 'contract' when visiting them. I guess I would have to bring this up and negotiate if I didn't like the stated terms that include pay in advance.

Frankly, I don't see the big deal. Perhaps this is because I have never felt burned. Pay at beginning or pay at the end, it is just a matter of convention as long as I end up paying. Most retail makes me pay up front, but there are exceptions. (With restaurants, especially, the issue is that I order food and drink and dessert in increments, so pay in advance -- except at McDonalds -- is somewhat impractial. But haircuts also pay after delivery of service, and then there is usually no incremental ordering. Why is the convention pay in advance for BCD with an escort?)

Some want to change what is apparently the convention. Why? As noted above, if both provider and client behave themselves, it really does not matter when payment is delivered. Only someone taking the money and running would make this an issue, or someone taking the services and running without paying, or someone providing poor service and expecting full payment. So I guess those who care about when payment is made envision the other side possibly not behaving. This could be either the provider or client, of course. Providers may have more to fear in this regard and hence the pay in advance convention. But I do not know the statistics on cut and run by providers versus cut and run (or f*ck and run) by clients.

While I have never felt shortchanged on service from an escort, I can see the potential problem. One solution is the widely recommended screening. Didn't someone recommend that to (almost) make sure there would not be problems?

Oh well, just one opinion on this issue. Feeling confident in the lady and agreeing to pay in advance has never done me wrong, but I am sure others have had different experiences.

I've always paid upfront even without being specifically requested to.

I think it helps by implying I've lived up to my part of the agreement - now it's her turn. It also puts her at ease, not worrying if I'm going to be a jerk about paying, which allows her to concentrate on my needs.

I have never been burned, and perhaps I'll change my ways if I ever do. But then again, maybe not since it works 99+% of the time. Where else are you going to get those odds?
