If they ever do legalize this hobby then a lot of providers will be in violation of civil rights laws for refusing "full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations of any place of public accommodation, without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin." They will need to reorganize their business model to eliminate the "public accommodation" portion of their locale.

That being said, this is such a personal exchange that I tend to agree with most people that say, "I can see whoever I feel like seeing and refuse service to whomever I feel like refusing service."

Actually, I didn't see him telling the OP how to be a minority. What I took from SJ's post was his expressed opinion on how a minority could successfully navigate these waters, and possibly overcome the problem in which the OP had encountered. I certainly didn't see this offering as either arrogant or condescending. And why attack his opinion because of his perceived financial status? Isn't that discriminatory too? Does one give up opinion credibility with acquired wealth? (BTW, I'm dirt poor.)

Look, we all have been discriminated against at times. I'm not a minority in this country, but can assure that I too have faced racial discrimination in other parts of the world. You don't have to be of African decent to have experienced rotten treatment. Look at the history of human existence in all corners of this globe. You really don't have to look back further than the 1930's to get a good picture of what I'm saying.
