Do you really think these refugee fighters are ready to stop their daily attacks.? They have been programmed by Hamas to shoot Israel ppl anytime, anywhere. These people would need to be take off the playing field for years ...and be silenced till given a go ahead. Nothing different that the IRA vs Britain. Just less US bombs and coordination

Maybe the fact that the Oct assault was just too fresh for anything less than retribution had something to do with it?

If someone starts shit with you and your family- and were to seriously injure or kill them, would you be willing to quickly de-escalate or call a truce? Most people have a few stages to get through before they've had enough. It's the human condition and nature to defend and retaliate.

It would be like asking why did world war II take so long to stop, and blaming Churchill for not solving it in a year or two.
