Yes Salty, Kudlow was right, the first quarter wasn't at all a disaster. Next quarter remains to be seen. The Liberation Day tariff rates originally proposed would create a disaster IMO. Thankfully Trump put them on hold, to the extent they exceeded 10%. And hopefully Trump, as you expect, will through negotiation back way off the April 2 levels. Or the courts will intervene.

I'm sorry, but I'm having a difficult time following this thread, except for Tiny's comments which are spot-on.

When did a quarterly GDP dip of 0.2% (annualized) become a "disaster"?

In 2025, there is no virus......unless you want to refer to Trump and compare him to a virus.
In 2022, Covid was no where near as bad as 2020 and 2021. The point was that Biden led us through two quarters that were much worse than 1st Qtr 2025. It even qualified as a recession until his Admin changed the definition and claimed we had not experienced one. You are always making the case that Trump did so poorly during his first term and that he couldn't blame Covid. Now you are saying it is ok for Biden to blame Covid?

I merely made the case that it was too early for you to be cheering America's poor current 1st qtr GDP.

The sky is always falling in DNC-landia. Yes, they are that desperate to find a talking point to rally around versus having a viable platform.

I can wait for the 2nd quarter to make a statement.

But 1st quarter was a bruiser.
