Bullshit. What if he was a nice guy who was wrong (or even delusional) and there is no hell? So he isn't either who he says he is or has condemned millions to hell. That's absurd thinking.
And Monkish, I didn't mean to imply that I thought that Buddhism wasn't a religion. It clearly is, although I don't practice is, per se. I use it in my life more as a philosophical tool, taking from it what I find useful, good and true.

Folks, go to youtube and search for the film "Zeitgeist". Religion is a mechanism for controlling other. Myths have been passed down for thousands of years and they have a recurrent theme: virgin birth, born on the 25th of december, resurrection, etc. The concept of Christianity, without being perverted by religious beliefs is wonderful. There is no logic, however, in believing that God is total love, but that he will punish me for certain conditions. Everything that happens to you is primarily because of what you attract to yourself - be it wealth, misery, happiness, etc. You need no religion to live a happy and healthy life. And now, for offering these wise words, I'm asking only for a small "love gift" of $20. You can donate by calling 1-800-Hardcock.

Jesus' words, actions, and miracles as recorded by the Bible and at least one historian of the day rule out delusional. And He's too wise to be confused over whether He's the son of God.
It's tough to argue faith and I probably shouldn't have started because I'm not good at it. You change hearts and minds through actions, not words, and my actions are a pretty poor illustration of my beliefs.

Why don't we stick to how we reconcile our own belief system with regards to our own behavior?
I do not thinck this is the place to debate the the existence of the divine beings; except sdme the that heavenly pussy we all enjoy from time to time.
Remember: This is hobby board, not a religious board.

That was kind of the original question - how one goes about pursuing a healthy spiritual existence while also pursuing the hobby. Do they have to be in conflict? And if you have to ignore some traditional moral values to be here, what moral values do NOT part with?

I blame the hobby on my Christian upbringing, as my Christian upbringing and the time I spent as a hardcore Christian had a lot to do with my never entering the dating game at the appropriate age.
So after I lost my faith, I had no idea how to get laid, cause what I was taught all my life was to "wait on God's timing".
So, now I'm in the hobby, as I don't have enough "game" to pull hotties, as being a 32yo with the social development of a teenager, I'm not exactly much of a "catch"

I am a Christian and I am a sinner, but being a sinner does not mean that I cannot strive for self-improvement. Regardless of what one thinks, believes, or assumes, we should all strive to be the best that we can possibly be.
"My faults are my own and I will answer for them one way or another." ... Me

I think a lot of people have the perception that you cannot be a good "christian" or whatever if you have any inconsistencies between what your moral beliefs are and your behavior and are therefore a hypocrite. In my world, I am the one who has to live with myself.
You have to know someone intimately to know what is in their heart. Just because some one behaves inconsistently with their ideals does not make them bad. However, you can and will be judged by others who see your behaviors.
Denial and rationalization are powerful coping tools. I could not do what I do without em... I am a pretty good guy, but I do not pretend here that I am a saint. I'm just a guy who can reconcile my spiritual beliefs with being a bit of a playboy.

Thanks filbone and KMBA1,
Jesus is The Way, Truth, and Life. It's something I know is true.
I'll not condemn or judge. We have a forgiving God, we just have to be sorry and not turn away.
I can't be here.
Goodbye eccie

My religious views are usually completely misundertood by those who were not raised in or taught the same information.
One of the most hilarious things I am asked about my religion "Do they believe in Jesus Christ?" Most people are very ignorant about the religions other than their own. I certainly am.
I believe in free will and I have the free will to find some hot strange. I don't cheat on my wife and do my best to keep from visiting ladies where pimps and drugs are involved. I supposed that is how I answer the original question.

I'm non-denominational, because I love all people.
So far, everywhere I go, everyone believes different things.
So I stay true, to knowing who I am, and know that, God leads me, no matter what.
I am truly blessed... and believe blessing, come in disguise.
So... I would not, be a provider, if it was not, for God.
Oh and I mesh fine, because of family support.
They believe, I should let God, lead me.
Not opinions.

I believe in a system of balance. If all you do is take care of yourself and not others then I believe there's a place in Hell for you. If you help others then I believe it makes up for most of the transgressions we all commit in our lives. You can have sex with a Provider or anyone that's not your spouse and be deemed a sinner. But I don't necessarily believe that going to confess your sins in church is the answer. It's too damned easy. Bless me Father for I have sinned...I paid for sex and was unfaithful to my wife eleven times last month..blah..blah..blah!" And all that hapens is the priest forgives your sins and tells you to say some prayers before you leave. Sorry...not buyin' that stuff!
Wanna have fun outside the marriage? OK, that's cool. I do it, so who am I to judge the actions of others. But temper the transgression with some sweat equity. Confessing to some ol' geezer that's sworn to secrecy and muttering a handfull of Hail Mary's just doesn't cut it in my book. Volunteer at a homeless shelter or animal rescue center, cut the grass or paint the house at the refuge for abused women, stock the shelves at a food pantry, pick up trash at a school parking lot, cut the grass at your church for a month, meals on wheels need delivery personnel....it's all good.
