FYI: Trump will sign it whether the elimination of the mandate is in there or not. Trump wants a tax bill to sign so he can beat the Liberal/Democrats over the head during next year as the elections approach. The mandate can be addressed separately.

Eliminating the individual mandate will result in two things. Some low risk people will stop buying health insurance. The risk pools will become more negative, premium costs will go up. The subsidy for a family of 2 that makes less than 50,000 will go up as well. So, instead of the government subsidy being $400 it will increase to like $550. The ACA is alive as long as there is government subsidy to help pay for premium. The senate tax bill did not change that.
