People that I know saw the rise of communism in Venezuela years ago and left the country as soon as they could. Some did not get out till after the rise of Chavez. those that I have spoken with do not call it socialism but state emphatically it is communism and it is ruining the nation. The money is all but worthless and if you have enough, goods are hard to come by. It is no wonder they turn to prostitution to survive. Seems very similar to Cuba.
