In the spirit of Fancy's original post, I'm grateful today for many things.
Over the past seven days I'm grateful to have been able to get out and hobby a little.
I still have a job. And despite being at my desk all week, I'm grateful I was given time to play volunteer dispatcher and donation coordinator for a local non profit.
I'm grateful I have two volunteer activities lined up to do this weekend.
I'm grateful for this cool weather. I'm grateful that the west beltway should be open in both directions sometime next week.
I'm grateful that I didn't flood and I didn't drown. I'm grateful that I don't live in Florida.
Harvey was a big shit sandwich and everybody got a taste, but some much more than others. We aren't done with it yet, but it feels like the end of the beginning finally. I am most grateful for that.

I'm grateful to have the opportunity to pay a wee bit of kindness forward myself this weekend.
I'll be grateful if Florida hasn't become New Atlantis by Monday, and will be thankful if Irma spares the Sunshine State some of the despair left behind for the Lone Star by Harvey.
I'd be grateful if everyone would take time out of busy lives to occasionally help others even a wee bit, as numerous little efforts can accomplish a lot.

You are a miserable son of a bitch. What joy do you derive from this kind of shit? If you derive any joy at all, you need to get a life. If you get none, do something else.

Who said I derived joy from telling the truth? As they say ignorance is bliss. You should know!

Lols. Thank you for speaking up. But honestly, the best way to deal with these types is to just ignore them.
And, raising my rates for moving to the Med Centre?
The neighborhood my in-call is in now, is far superior to that neighborhood. It literally makes no sense whatsoever that such would happen. Lols.

Montrose is an overpriced dump where 20 year olds going on 60 aimlessly stand around all day long like the walking dead. Your rates will go up.

Hey, those of you who want to be depressive and rain on my parade like Harvey, start your own thread! A haunted one full of zombies, curses, and dirges, if that pleases you.
THIS one is about being thankful. I'm thankful to be alive, considering the alternative. Also thankful that October IS right around the corner, as it's my FAVORITE month of the year! SO much to enjoy, like the Texas Renaissance Festival, Oktoberfest, the State Fair of Texas, my birthday on the 9th, the Bayou City Downtown Art Festival, the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival, the Houston Italian Festival, the Texas Mushroom Festival, and HALLOWEEN. (The one day of the year when BSC is expected and bats are actually invited to participate.)
The above may not thrill some of you, but does me and the wee werewolves. Hooooowwwwwwwl!

I'm grateful
To have survived Harvey without damage. That my family member who's house was devastated survived safely, cats and all.
I'm grateful for those friends who have stepped up to help me with my family disaster. And for the volunteers who just came off the street to help without being asked.
That I live in the best country in the world and the best state.
I am happy to be gainfully employed and in reasonable health.
There are so many more things to be thankful for if we only stop and think about them.
And thanks to Fancy for a positive thread and cool looking dog pics.

I'm thankful to have my health, loved ones, and to be in a pretty good financial place.
I'm thankful for all the great ladies we have met in this world of ours and looking forward to reacquainting with old friends and meeting future ones.
Another +1 to Fancy for this thread, for being the voice of reason, and all the great memes she's shared over the years.
