Spaniards, may be?

I think the "Mexicans" "conquered" the Alamo, which took them about 5,000* strong against about 200, and they lost reportedly about 600 to kill around 200 after 13 days.

*Although they claim "1,800" only, I've read differently from a translation of memoirs of a Mexican soldier who survived the "campaign," and the subsequent defeats.

Of course the defeated Obaminable, but he was golfing.

There is no doubt that the Battle of The Alamo has morphed into more of a myth than actual fact. Just how many Soldiers Santa Anna marched over 1000 miles in the dead of Winter to put down the Texan rebellion is not know. But there is one fact that is indisputable. He brought enough to break the siege at the Alamo and kill all but a few of the defenders.

It was not enough, however, to sustain a Campain over a broad area, especially in a Territory as vast as Texas, with limited supply lines and support.

The one important fact of History that can not be denied is Sam Houston lured Santa Anna into a situation that almost guaranteed the Mexican Dictator's defeat.

And that is exactly what happenned.

As we all know (all of us except shitstain anyway) this is not the only time and place in history this happened. This is true for the entire Western hemisphere. Name a country that is ruled by its ancestral people? It doesn't make it right, it makes it the norm. Stronger, more powerful, more technologically advanced societies have displaced or enslaved weaker societies throughout history. ( We also believe now that most Native Americans died from exposure to small pox long before they ever laid eyes on a European. Nature set the stage for the conquering of the Western Hemisphere. It wouldn't have mattered what continent established permanent communication with the West.
We see evidence even in prehistory. What happened to Neanderthal? Modern humans replaced them. Do we feel guilt? Should we?
How did African slaves become enslaved? Other Africans (who sometimes later became slaves themselves). The Hebrews, the Assyrians, the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Minoans, the Hittites, the Sumerians. History has far more examples of people who have been conquered than examples of conquerors who still exist today. And before anyone (I'm talking to you Shitsatain) gives me any crap, my grandparents on my father's side were born on a reservation in Oklahoma.
Muslims are still displacing societies today.
One day, it will very likely happen to us, just as it happened to those who came before us.

The Mexican Army waited too long to make the trip, but a little "published" FACT is that there were a lot of Anglo (nonHispanic/Mexican) residents living in the Territory of Texas who helped the Mexican Army with food, shelter, and animals to complete their trek North. Texas territory was much larger than was included in the "campaign," since the mission was to defeat the insurgents who had congregated primarily from Central Texas to the Gulf of Mexico and into what is now "East Texas."

The book With Santa Anna in Texas is a translation of the diary of a Mexican officer who was at the Alamo. John Wayne would perhaps dispute his diary....but his diary has been authenticated, although disputed at times.
