Like a few other have said, I am somewhat of a shy person. A wallflower if you will. If I come across a topic I find interesting I usually post a comment. That said, I tend to think of the eccie boards as a treat that I allow myself to have for one reason or another.

But don't you think if more of the wall flowers posted, specifically threads with subjects, that there might be more you would find interesting?
I know a lot of times I see people bashing threads for being lame, but they've never started one?
This is a serious question and not an attack.

Probably so, RR. As one of the folks that only posts every once in a while, I've started a few threads. The first few posts tend to be on topic, but then a few folks wander off on a tangent, and the whole thread turns into white noise for me.

You're correct they often do wander.
But I still think people like yourself are the SOLUTION.
New blood.
The thing I've found about posting is it's hit or miss.
Sometimes they are successful, others fail.
But like everything in life it's the way we learn

Thanks for the perfect example that was needed. Your intent was to pick it apart but in doing so you've proven the post to be accurate. Well let me offer you a more positive viewpoint. People who i rarely see posting have posted here. I have a feeling there will be more to come, here and in other threads. No need to be such a pessimist. I like my blankets fresh scented, warm, and DRY; thank you!
OP This is why more viewers don't participate Wussieeeeees! J/K .

The truth is anytime anyone is new to a group they are usually given the side eye.
Unfortunately cliquish people don't give respect until you have proven the right to have it. Cliquish people usually make you earn respect. They usually test you a bit.
It's typical human behavior. I understand how for shy people this would be a deterant for wanting to post. Most prefer the easy way (I know I do, but I am often up for a challenge).
Often times i see newbie Co-Ed posters get the "who the fuck are you? do you even know what you are talking about" type answer. Some get scarred off and some reply humbly and keep it pushin'. The trial and error of integrating yourself into a group is not easy but can be done.

Thanks for sharing.
(Geez, I sound like the group leader at an ECCIE anonymous meeting)

You can always hit the Report To Moderator (RTM). I am pretty sure not going off topic is a part of the ECCIE rules.

Being quiet has its upside....
"Better to be silent and thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt..."
-King Solomon, Abraham Lincoln, or Samuel Clemens, but that's a debate for another thread (which I won't start).
