I guess I am trying to say that while some of us have a professional attitude this really isnt a profession. Where do the expectations come from?

Why is this not a profession? I am sure that you are familiar with the concept of the courtesan, and those ladies were held to a very high standard. I think the providers here who emulate the courtesans of old are the ladies who endure. They take this profession and the treatment of their clients to an art form. That requires skill, and is learnable.

I came from the corporate world of communications, which, btw, has been exceedingly helpful in this endeavor. I actually was offered a spot at an agency looking for a mature companion, but it was my choice to be an "independent contractor," completely responsible for my success or failure, with no excuses that someone else screwed up instead of just screwed. ANY money-making venture can either operate in the most rudimentary fashion and hope that the service haphazardly makes a few bucks through supply and demand, or the proprietor can refine the business through study and application, do what's required to make it successful and garner repeat clientele, become adept and build a marketable brand that will maintain a reliable cash flow.

Maybe it's the difference between seeing a cook or a chef, a candy striper or a registered nurse, someone who is in something for the time being and perhaps a quick paycheck versus the person gaining experience and knowledge in a field that they intend to stay in for a while. This is my profession, and I take pride in the reputation that I have built and the longevity that I have displayed. Just because others may not treat it seriously doesn't mean that I will take it lightly.

I see no reason why consumers should not expect "professional," consistent, polite behavior anywhere that they spend their money.

He said that I just needed to drop it and that alerting the board of his insulting behavior towards me would result in him ruining my reputation with his eccie buddies.

Then he went on to tell me he did absolutely nothing wrong and asked If I was on drugs and told me to drop it because I really do have mental problems. I told him "NO" and asked what kind of response do you think you are going to get from a provider when the very first thing you do is treat her as if shes a dirty whore and then when she gets upset about it go into insulting every aspect of her personality.

Just because I am a provider does not mean that I should not be treated with a certain amount of dignity and respect! The last thing he told me after he informed me of my drug and mental problems was to go ahead and report him and "see what happens" I take that as a pretty scary threat, he could give my number to LE for all I know.

Bottom line is this guy has a bad attitude and is incredibly disrespectful at least he was to me.
