There are car thieves who steal cars from parking lots also! Please file a complaint!!!! I think it is inappropriate to paint "tow truck drivers" generally. BTW: I know driver's also. I have one's contact info on the back of my DL and in my phone.

Like providers when he's "tied up" I go to #2 or he sends someone (unlike providers).

Next time you see your driver just ask him. He will tell you the tricks of the game. Your jaw will probably drop.

So there is clarity on this.... I didnt get towed. It was an observation of "the missing" ...

Carry on...

You make it sound like I'm ignorant of the tow truck business. Anecdotal accusations are not credible or relevant to the issues raised by the recent events. In any business there are fringe elements who are eventually cut out of the herd. Same on this board. My jaw doesn't drop at the sinister activities in which people engage to further their economic self-interests.

Like I asked to which you redirected ...

Is it "illegal" to park on a private parking lot?

Technically most strip-malls are private lots... I dont know if this is true or not, but I heard a long time ago that if someone backed into you while both were in such a place, that the PoPo wouldnt/couldn't do anything because it was private? I dunno.

Ask your upstanding tow truck driver friend and his coworkers.

Whether it's "illegal"? Why would I do that?

Are you familiar with the phrase: "rhetorical question"?

FYI: The tow truck driver is not a "friend"! He's a reliable, law abiding, properly documented tow truck driver who is on the rotation for the County and is available for long hauls....in other words a professional.

Yes parking lots are private (except those around government facilities) and no traffic tickets are given out in them.

Making up shit again. "borderline criminal"? You "fixed" nothing!

So you think all tow truck drivers are "borderline criminal"?

You don't even know the guy. You don't even know me.

That's obvious!

I'm not sure your exact point, but most of the parking lots into which I have parked "around government facilities" are privately owned and/or operated. I have parked in parking lots within government facilities and those were "not private."

Furthermore, you are incorrect about "no traffic tickets are given out in them" ... meaning parking lots. If a vehicle is involved in a collision in a parking lot, whether there is personal injury or only damage, you can be arrested and/or issued a citation if you fail to stop and provide information and/or "aid" if someone is injured.

Texas Transportation Code
§ 550.001. APPLICABILITY OF CHAPTER. This chapter
applies only to:
(1) a road owned and controlled by a water control and
improvement district;
(2) a private access way or parking area provided for a client or patron by a business, other than a private residential property, or the property of a garage or parking lot for which a charge is made for storing or parking a motor vehicle; and
(3) a highway or other public place.
See Texas Transportation Code §§ 550.021 thru 550.026.

The offense levels and punishments are provided. And FYI you can be arrested for a Class C Misdemeanor under the Transportation Code.

My point was that if you're involved in an accident in a parking lot there won't be any tickets given out relating to that accident...e.g the party responsible for the accident wont be ticketed for the accident.
