Wow, I feel underprivileged!

For some reason, I've never been able to tell what a woman had for breakfast last Tuesday by the taste/composition of her juices. Can't tell if she smokes, drinks, prefers steak or veal or any of that jazz.

I have a sensitive nose and I don't prefer the smell of smoke or taste of it on a man’s breath. However, I do have some clients who are smokers, but they put forth effort into masking the smell, which makes it easier for ME to tolerate. They do not disrespect me by smoking in my incall (I have asthma too). Actually, everyone I know who smokes is respectful enough to do it outside or away from me when they are in my company. I am so grateful that smokers can no longer smoke in Minneapolis restaurants and bars. I used to go out on the town and come home reeking of smoke and I am a nonsmoker. Don’t get me wrong, I don't mind if others smoke, but it's not my vice and I prefer not to be subjected to it. And we all know secondhand smoke is dangerous.

With that said, some people are more sensitive to the smell of smoke and kissing a smoker indeed tastes like "kissing an ashtray" to them. It’s all about personal preference and perception. I just ask that my clients try hard to mask the smell of smoke. This works for me.

I think hand washing is a much overlooked part of the hygiene of getting rid of the lingering smoke smell. As long as the person I’m kissing has made an effort to rinse or brush their teeth and wash their hands, I don’t care one way or the other.

As for cigarette breath, I tend to get a hankering for a cig every once in awhile - sometimes need it from all the BS I put up with at work. I've been using that Listerine Whitening BS gargling mouth wash stuff and really prefer it to the regualr Listerine mouth wash. I use before I go into a session and after. It's like rinsing with minty perioxide because it foams up.
