In the navy there is the recruit, directly above him (or her) is the RPO1 (Recruit Petty Officer 1st Class), above that person is the RCPO (Recruit Chief Petty Officer), then is the Company Commander (who could be a 1st class or a CPO) and the rest is unimportant because your typical recruit is never going to meet any of them.
