That was the point of my thread, sweetface. Those rates weren't based on what they offered or what they looked like. Every single provider I looked at, looked different, some good, some bad, some DAMNNNN.. all offering different things... with close to, if not the same, base rates. I can't discuss what's offered & what's not, because we all offer different things... but you put a twist on it when you said -

Don't sweat it. Adjust your rates up or down slowly and see what happens. Figure out what works best for you. Try posting specials, gauge the responses.
If possible, make friends with some of the other ladies and listen to what they say. I'm not saying to do what they say, but consider their viewpoints. Sometimes it's informative even if they say something wrong.

Sometimes its hard to tell what men really think of women (especially the women in this industry). I didn't know if it was a Freudian slip or intentional.
I think objectification can go both ways. No man wants to feel like a wallet. No woman wants to feel like a walking orifice.
Diana has a really good point, "What are you REALLY paying for?" She had mentioned that some seasoned escorts are charging newbie BP/CL and SW rates. Different people provide different calibers of service BECAUSE not all men are looking for the same thing.
For example, most women have a certain hair dresser that they prefer. For me, I am not just looking for someone who can cut my hair efficiently. Her studio needs to be clean. She also needs to be cordial and engage in amiable conversation. I like it when she pours me a glass of wine while I sit under the dryer. Furthermore, she needs to have some type of artistic initiative (I want her to have fun with my hair; I don’t want the same color and cut every time.) I do not want her working on five other women while she is doing my hair. I want it to be about me. At the end of the day, my bill reflects this.
If I didn’t want all of these things, I would go to Wal-Mart and have the $9.99 special cut.
I realize that some men want the “all day beauty spa” type of escort, and others are looking to get the job done as quickly and cheaply as possible. If I am reading Diana’s post correctly, I too wonder how many men in Texas are looking for the Wal-Mart special.

Let me spin it from my end of the scale.
I am what many ladies would consider a "low rent" provider. My normal rates are just slightly above the averages you quote, but I typically offer specials that are slightly lower than the averages you quote.
I catch a great deal of flack about my choices in rate structure. But, at the end of the day, I have an education that I am paying for, as well as two children to support. So, I prefer the security of knowing that I shouldn't have any trouble making the bills at the end of the day.
Another side benefit is that the gents generally expect me to be something "less" than what they get. So many guys seem genuinely shocked that I have a beautiful face. Its natural assumption given my rate that since I don't show my face, I could be next years Alpo model--- guys who have met with me can readily tell you that my face is my best feature. So many guys are surprised by my level of service-- at my rate the norm is get in and get out. In my world, an hour is an hour. I have nothing but positive reviews because I under-promise and over deliver-- and while I hate to make myself sound more like a commodity than a person--- I offer value for money.
I offer clean and convenient locations. Mind you, I'm not staying at the Ritz Carlton by any means, but I do my best to stay at mid-range hotels in decent neighborhoods. I never ask anyone to park their car somewhere that I wouldn't feel safe parking my own.
I guess in the end-- everyone has to decide how they are going to run their business. Because thats what this is. A business. I don't ever advise ladies to take on my rate structure. I get a lot of flack and a lot of rumors started because of it. But, at the end of the day you have to take care of you. Thats the way I see things.

I have to disagree to some extent. When I've read ads, quite often the ads do seem to be the same. There is a lot more to an ad than what it superficially states. How the ad is written expresses an attitude (good or bad), how an escort sees herself and lots of other subtleties. Most ads are directed towards guys who want a one hour gfe session and the differences in the way those are written does not really indicate much else.
You mentioned that the rates don't differ much, but rates are one way to set yourself apart. If your multi hour rates appeal to multi hour clients while your one hour rate is above average, you'll tend to attract multi hour clients. (At least I read rates in ads that way. ) I never booked less than 2 hours, so I wanted to se ladies whospecifically preferred multi hour clients. If I saw an ad with a one-hour rate of, say 400.00/hr and there was a substantial disscount for multiple hours, that told me she wanted multi hour clients. I was never a bargain hunter because rates are about more than just price. How you structure them does (or should) say something other than how much it costs to see you.

"What they offered" -- if meaning specific activities on the menu -- doesn't really vary that much. "What they looked like" does, but that may not be the basis for a competitive advantage supporting different rates because physical appearance is one area particularly subject to WALDT/CASG. A particular lady may not be my cup of tea but will be for someone else.
If you leave out physical appearance (and geographic location), and assume the basic menu is pretty much the same (because it is), it is exceedingly rare for me to look at an ad or a review and say " Yes, I want to see this lady rather than someone else." It's happened a time or two but not often. In the past, mostly I relied on trial and error -- see a lot of ladies and identify a few who were a great match.
The ads tell me that most ladies are reduced to competing based on physical appearance and $$$. Their definition of a target audience doesn't go beyond "guys who like ladies who look like me, and whose budget is $X."
How many ladies actually sit down and - determine their competitive advantages compared to other ladies,
- identify a target market that plays to those strengths, and then
- analyze how to advertise in such a fashion to attract that target market and
- stand out so they'll realize she's what they're looking for?
I can think of some, and maybe I'm missing others who do it as well, but it seems to be pretty rare, at least outside of the HDH ranks.
