I think she was speaking more about the assholes here, not the ones that act like they have some sense sometimes. You know who they are, and you know what they do.

That ain't no damn research, because he was there! At one point on the Houston forums things got very ugly, so much so that a lot of Houston provider STOPPED posting at all, except for ads. Now most providers know not to pay him any mind because his reputation as a hater and a miscreant proceeds him now (yes, muthafucka I called you a miscreant LOL), back then we only had 3 or 4 mods and this forum that we now for the most part police ourselves was still forming. Perhaps you should go back and read to get better reference (and context, which means something) and guess WHO was right in the middle, stirring up A LOT of shit. Just take a guess..

curiously why are reviews or at least comments about another hobbyist's review of a provider being offered? (besides those of occasional suspicious ones)
what's to gain from this?

Grasshopper:
The question you should ask is why shouldn't hobbyists comment on reviews? To answer that you must also answer why Facebook? Why twit er tweet? Why do people converge into electronic communities?
When you can snatch the provider out from under me, you will have the answer to your question.

Dr. Alfred Lanning: [voiceover] There have always been ghosts in the machine. Random segments of code, that have grouped together to form unexpected protocols. Unanticipated, these free radicals engender questions of free will, creativity, and even the nature of what we might call the soul. Why is it that when some robots are left in darkness, they will seek out the light? Why is it that when robots are stored in an empty space, they will group together, rather than stand alone? How do we explain this behavior? Random segments of code? Or is it something more? When does a perceptual schematic become consciousness? When does a difference engine become the search for truth? When does a personality simulation become the bitter mote... of a soul?
Binary code Philosophy anyone?

Trey, the hostile atmosphere that's been created by the Bad Attitude Brigade has consequences. I've heard from both hobbyists and providers that they now stay away from Eccie. Many people don't have thick enough skin to endure the offensive remarks that spew forth on a regular basis.
I wonder how many worthwhile reviews we missed out on because some keyboard cowboy attacked a newbie reviewer? Or how many providers have been driven off by the "whale" crap and other misogyny that's tolerated here?
I think there's still valuable information here, but I understand why you'd not send a hobby contact to Eccie. I certainly don't mention it to anyone who doesn't know about it.

the back and forth banter is both useful and annoying.
Once a review is posted, there should be some limit as to how many days one is allowed to post comments on it.. say.. 5 days? 7?
After that it is locked.
How many times do we see comments on a review (or thread) that is over 30 days?
There should be a limit as to how long the review is open for discussion 7 days should be ideal.....
Thoughts?
