I am so saddened by the loss of these beautiful kids. How could anyone harm children? I can't understand it.

There have been studies where rats living too closely packed in, and in competition for food and space with one another will "murder" each other left and right bigger ones killing smaller ones.

Maybe we as human beings are just great big two legged fucking rats. Maybe all of our talk, all of our "thinking" and all of our supposed brain power is just a colossal joke played on us by our maker. Maybe he doesn't stop this from happening because this is just who we are. Savage, brutal, murdering rats who think highly of ourselves because we are the smartest species on this planet. Maybe the rest of the universe is laughing at us because we're proud of that.

Blaming the gun for this tragic incident is like blaming a lynching on the rope. I dont know why stuff like this is happening more today than decades ago, maybe they did but we just did not have the technology to see it as it happens and see coverage all day. The 24 hour news cycle has change a lot of things in our society, or it could be that we as a society care less for others, we are more interested in "how is this going to benefit me" mindset, it could also be that as a society we have become desensitized to death and because of this those wishing to seek fame or notoriety for a shocking event have had to up the anti. I am not sure, I do know that the problem isnt guns, guns are simply the tool used today as much as the rope was the tool used in another tragic period in our societal evolution.

Actually this is incorrect. As much as we can feel badly about this incident, especially with the children. The statement is totally wrong.

Most people at the time the constitution was written had an intimate knowledge about how a corrupt government tried to prevent their overthrow by denying the people a means to protect themselves against the government itself. The discussion was like this: when this government becomes corrupt itself, or individuals within the government become corrupt; the people will be armed. This will enable someone to take the idiot out. It was an approval for the ability to destroy the problem. Thus, the second amendment.

How soon we forget that many of the battles of the revolutionary war were, in some way, about the shortage of gunpowder. The main trust throughout the war was the attempt of the English to take away the gunpowder that the colonies had, and prevent them from obtaining more.

The English had a long history of mistreatment of the American Colonies, as well as other colonies around the world; they had reasons to fear what the people wanted to do to them. We were lucky to have the French as friends during this period.

We have massacres at schools because we don't allow anyone (including qualified persons) from having a gun at school. Israel decided that their children were worth more than political correctness. It is the law that when you have a school function with three or more children there WILL be an armed adult who is authorized to shoot to kill. I don't mean a pistol, I mean a real assault weapon. I saw some beautiful, tanned women in Israel carrying M-1 carbines, M-16s, and Galils.

How about starting a separate thread on gun control vs gun rights. Now, it the time to grieve for the children.
