$240 for the electric and $500 for the rent. The other $500 won't be due until Dec 5th but I'm pretty hopefully that I will be able to work again by then.

Damn, I gotta head out but I will be back to comment on the eviction.
There is a way to buy time on that, at the most you can stall for 3 to 4 months before getting kicked out IF it should get to that point.

Malaya, have your SO go to Texas workforce. They list jobs for labor and all kinds of jobs that don't necessarily require experience. Also, Temp Agencies will pay by the end of each week...which helps when you're needing cash right away. As for evictions....it takes awhile before they can physically throw you out...so, don't stress that you're gonna be out in the cold. And, don't laugh at this, but....contact the ELLEN show. She's always looking to help someone who's in desperate situations. You never know!!

One of my friends lost her home in a fire. She's also pregnant, a single mom now because she just lost her husband to cancer. She has three kids, and one on the way. She took things into her own hands, and did things like buying and selling things from garage sales/flea market...got a PT job as a waitress, so she could have cash on a daily basis...exhanged babysitting with some of her friends...so she didn't have to pay a babysitter when she worked.

She didn't want to go through welfare as she's a proud hispanic woman and she thinks as long as she can work...she shouldn't take advantage of the State system. I told her...sometimes, you need to reach out for help, especially, when you've exhausted all avenues to help yourself.

She did very well, and got her family into a new apartment...so, don't feel bad, you'll be Ok! Here's a link to support center for just about anything in SA:

Unfortunately we are on a month to month so we don't get that much time to put in rent.

Sorry to hear you're going through that. I can respect your honesty and willingness to work, no matter what it is, to earn the money though. I would hire you as a babysitter if it weren't for certain complications. Good luck and I hope everything works out.

I don't know if you've heard of Haven for Hope but if all else fails keep them in mind. It's a shelter downtown but they do a lot more than just be a shelter, they'll help you with medical, housing, and finding a job.

Right now everyone is hiring even taco cabana .... and with texas workforce ha ha if my 16 year old was able to go in and find a job and get hired with no work exp at all in less then a week your ex should have no problem, also if he really wants to work "labor ready and pacesetters" pay you on a daily basis between 50.-75. A DAY, if u have a vehicle they give you gas for lets riders ride with you. BUT YOU MUST BE THERE AT 530-6 A.M and if you are serious that he is serious about a job i can call my ex girlfriend and she can have someone get a work ticket for him the day before he goes in BUT HE MUST BE THERE AT THAT TIME. they send them out to all kinds of places and some are temp to hire....THATS IF HE REALLY WANTS TO WORK.

going to work at labor ready and pacesetters is for people that have come to a dead end and it doesnt matter what they do as long as they get paid, so if he has to scoop shit then so be it as long as you and his kids arent in the streets.

PM if you want me to put a ticket for him.

Somebody, give this guy a medal...afterall, a blind man reading that post couldn't fail to note it of the noblest caliber.

Too often such stupendous insight and charitable commentary go inadequately recognized, shame on...someone....tsssky-tssky (sad face ).

You are entitled to your opinion. Perhaps you should consider keeping it to yourself. SMH

I mean no harm to the OP....but come on, the biggest responsibilty anyone of us have...is raising our kids. Sorry to be blunt, but part of the decision in becoming a solid parent is making sure when bringing a child into the world, that we can provide some type of financial security for that child.

Getting on a SHMB and reaching out for help, when you already have 4kids, under 6...smacks of very poor planning

And of yea...you also are entilted to your opinion...so NO I WILL not keep mine to myself...but thanks for your useless thought, lol

And one last thought to playVkeeps...how much are you donating to help out this lady's situation...or are you.....

he wasn't rude about it. he is allowed to say his mind. You might not agree with him, but that isn't a reason to tell him to keep quiet.
