What a great thread - I am dating myself because I remember ALL of those 'versions' of Sally *You like me! You really like me'* Fields.
Yes, been told 'I love you' by clients and at times have had to apply a frozen smile and deliver a convincing, "Awww, that's sweet - it's nice to be appreciated".
And, yes...I have fallen in love with a client...or two... At one level, their intelligence and confidence made me genuinely love and respect them as men. Then there were times when their minds, kisses, personalities mixed with those pesky/sexy pheromones made it a lovely - heart jumbling - 'ain't love grand?!?' experience....
Now back to sipping my coffee and enjoying some mmmm-memories :-)

Love does not have to be infinite, but like a flame, it has to be intense while it lasts. Those are not my words, but a poet's words. So, using this poet's philosophy, I would say that when I see my favorite provider I love her, I intensely love her. It is only for the duration of our session., but it is a true love during that time.... Until the flame flairs again. In fact, I can't wait until I love her again. Hey sweet heart, you know who you are but don't let anybody know....

Every last one of us in this hobby has the capacity and ability to love
What the vast majority of us lack, is the capacity and ability for monogamy.

Semantics
Depends on your definition:
Quote:
1. An intense feeling of deep affection
2. A deep romantic or sexual attachment to someone
|
If you're talking about appreciation and/or enjoying time together -- I suspect a very high percentage, from both sides.
If you're talking about affection and non-sexual attraction (since you said not "lust") -- I suspect a high percentage of regulars but much lower for someone you've seen only a time or two; overall, probably not a majority but still a fairly good percentage, from both sides.
And if you strictly apply the qualifiers intense and deep, as I would -- I suspect in most cases it's no more than 2% or 3%. It's hard to develop that intensity, for aspects of the relationship other than sex, with limited time together.
I assume most ladies I see really do appreciate me as a client and enjoy our time together (as I appreciate/enjoy them). and I assume several feel some degree of affection and non-sexual attraction (as I feel for them). If they want to characterize that as "love," fine. I don't, but it's a matter of semantics. There have been a couple of ladies for whom I might use that word for my feelings, although not intense and deep to the point of divorce and seeking a more permanent, civilian relationship with the lady. And I seriously doubt whether any of the ladies I've seen strongly yearn for a more permanent, civilian relationship with me. But that's OK; appreciation and some degree of affection are plenty, aren't they?

Okay I confess. I have hijacked this thread in the past with my vain attempts at humor, but this is how The Passionate ManSlut really feels about his favorite subject 'LOVE'.
There ABSOLUTELY is the possibility of Love at first sight, first kiss, first touch, first date, etc...To quote the Great Leo F. Buscaglia (you tube him), who taught the first college course in 1969 at USC called Love101, from his book titled LOVE, "There is only one type of LOVE, but there are many different degrees of it !!"
For instance, I may love the oak tree in my front yard, Max the SlutDog, my parents, a significant other, etc., but it is still LOVE, just different degrees of it. I believe that the greatest human beings are the ones who have the capacity and dedicate their lives to Loving the Human Race - Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Christ, etc...Their love, being non-sexual, may be the highest degree...It's the way our Creator loves us, no matter what we do.
Poets are often viewed inaccurately, and here is a quote from the great Robert Frost and his poem RELUCTANCE, a metaphor about accepting a failed Love...."Ah, when to the heart of Man, is it ever less than a treason/To bow and except the end of a Love or a Season."
