Yes, I do remember Dukakis making that idiotic statement when asked that hypothetical question about his wife by a reporter.

The problem was that Dukakis came off sounding phony by trying to be too logical and losing touch with his humanity which was what the question called for.

Romney, on the other hand, came off sounding childishly ignorant because he demonstrated how shallow his comprehension is regarding basic physics.
