another key injury last year was the George Wilson. I think they lost every game he was injured in the middle of the season. He was the quite leader on defense, and lifted everyone games around him. Most underrated defensive player in my opinion.
the handful of injuries, and they resulted losses show a lack of depth needed of any play-off team. Let's hope the draft and the few acquisitions can improve the depth, if so the're in the play-offs.
do remember they beat belicheck and patriots, which is why i knew the patriots couldn't take the giants.
the steeler's were the best in the AFC, but were caught flat footed against a "HOT" and cold denver team

Last Bills playoff appearance was 1999 vs Tennessee in the "Music City Miracle". Amidst wide speculation and doubt, Rob Johnson was named the starting QB for this game. Many still believe that if Doug Flutie started and played, the Bills would have marched to another Super Bowl appearance. Tennessee fell one play and 5 yards short of winning the Super Bowl themselves, that season.

that is a under statement yankee.
Bill ok the first Q. Or did the Vikings wake up as they owned the Bill the rest of the game. Then someone at the bar I was at says "no problem Bills just testing new players" Well I had to point out that duh Vikings where doing more of that in the game than the Bills where.
So now if there soon to be cut players can do that with soon to be cut Bills with more of are so called keepers in the game. We be done yet another year before it starts.
Sabers better have a better year dam-it!

To me the Bills are the home team and I can’t help pulling for them, but I have to think realistically. Woefully, I believe they will go 7 and 9 or, at best, .500.
If anyone shows any interest in this thread; I’ll list my reasons for this prediction.

There was a little interest in this topic so, as promised, here’s the reason for my Bills prediction:
It seems, after many years, the Bills are concentrating on putting a quality product on the field. Long gone is the halcyon days of Bill Polian and John Butler, but at least Buffalo’s front office is making moves, evidenced by the signing of Seattle’s Tarvaris Jackson.
The Bills wasted no time cutting Vince Young after a less than stellar preseason performance, and the signing of vaunted free agents Mario Williams, and Mark Anderson proved the Bills would spend to upgrade. Plus last year’s No. 3 overall pick, Marcell Dareus, the veteran next to him, Kyle Williams, and first-round rookie Stephon Gilmore should prove to be a force on the defensive front. Also factoring in is the promotion of Dave Wannstedt to defensive coordinator.
On offense the Bills have some talented skill position players in Fred Jackson, CJ Spiller, David Nelson, etc. Fitzpatrick’s arm strength is often a source of criticism, but he’s shown some pretty good zip in the preseason.
Although in my humble opinion, nothing gets done without a high caliber offensive line that can go out every game day and jack people up. That’s why, sadly, I say the Bills will go 7 and 9 this season or no better than 8 and 8.

Well I like what the Drummer has to say. But I find a few problems in there signings. First of all still no offensive line. That kills jackson's running. C J Spiller has not shown any improvement. Wasted money by signing Vince Young. Why do you think nobody else wanted him. ( HE SUCKS ). Now wasted money by signing Tarvaris Jackson. Another Rob Johnson. ( SUCKS almost as much as Young ). Paid Fitzpatrick big money and got a at best a 2nd or 3rd string back up. With all the money they've wasted on QB's the could have drafted a first rounder and got a couple offensive linemen.
I agree the defence should be better but with no offence. Lost cause.
Now the worst part, I have been and still am a Bill's fan. Season ticket holder for years.
My perdiction: 5 to 6 wins at best. That may be high.

Hey Gun,
I agree with everything you say, and you add some valid points – wasted money on QBs; no run blocking, add to that pass blocking. In the NFL, to open up a pass oriented offense, which Gailey intends, you first must establish the run.
All the historically great teams had tremendous running games. The run sets up the pass. Defensive players must play the run too, and can’t pin their ears back and simply rush the quarterback. And, conversely, as the running game's established it sets up the pass. Now the opposing defense doesn’t know whether to shit or go blind!!!
As for Fitzpatrick, at least he’s smart. I don’t think he’ll win games by himself, but I believe he won’t lose them by himself. With the offensive line, I don’t envy him standing in the pocket. Most likely, more times than not, he’ll be on his bicycle.
Gun, you being a season ticket holder for years and not a fair weather fan; I hope I’m wrong and Buffalo surprises people this year.
