Default Websites are a mystery to me

I am trying to put together a website because I notice I get these pm's and emails asking me all kinds of crazy questions. The most annoying question is "what services do you provide?" or "Do you have a menu?" I have to stop myself from answering something smart ass like, "You looking for a hamburger, fries and shake?" As far as services, if we really were truthful it would be something like, "Okay, I'm provocatively posing on eccie so what kind of services do you suppose I am offering?" In other words, no I am not going to put something incriminating in print and send it to a stranger. There you are officer, anything to make your life easier.

A good website is a wonderful way to present yourself to someone who may not be familiar with eccie. There are a ton of clients who have no idea what eccie is. In my case, I didn't like the free escort design sites because everyone uses them and I want mine to look more unique. The problem is it is a long and difficult process. Buy a domain name from one company, hosting from another and THEN another site to put it together. Wordpress vs Weebly are what I narrowed down and with my computer ineptness all I have succeeded in doing is typing in my www.com and seeing my eccie showcase pop up! Oh, then there was the episode where I was learning to size and compress photos. I decide to ask my wiz kid son for help. Of course, he pushes something and my lewd photo stash pops up! I scream, cover the screen with my hands and my teen runs out of the room, embarrased as I was. What a disaster!

Hi Chloe,

I think it can be one of many sources. Personally, I`d think if you put an ad on eros and other sites for the time being or attracting clients it might be sufficient as well - without a homepage. I see many companions doing this. In Switzerland almost no one has a homepage for reasons of discretion (small country, ya know..) they only do via newspaper, photo ads, and time-lines (Time-line means that you are here at a certain time of the month, and potential clients "know" that they might want to check the last week of the month if they want to find you somewhere....) It works pretty well, too. Plus, potential discreet mailing lists of course.

BTW: lovely new avatar. Curious about the photoshooting ... )

I don`t want to dissappoint you, but a website does not help with these kind of stalkers or freaks. I have a homepage with pretty many words on it as well (some consider too much) and about 19 photos , and I get mails with the wishes of "can you tell me more about yourself" , "what services do you offer", "can you send me more photos" "face pics" ......

It`s hilarious, really. No need to answer. I won`t send cheap pussy pics or any more undisguised face pics to complete strangers and an accurate description with the information that I don`d do "services" is on my page... aaarghhh.... no need to bother with jerks like that. Comes with the trade ...

Just bulk them in spam folder.. ) At times when I get annoyed I answer "appropriately" and cynically to some mails, and the result is them stalking and writing 20 messages to a complete stranger like me. These are people who won`t do appointments anyways, no matter how and if you present yourself at a webpage. Just ignore them. The real people know what and how to write.

I have gents writing me really long introductory mails usually. You learn how to get a feel and weed the people out.

ps: besides , once you got a webpage , photographers, escort directories and cheap webdesigners start to harrass you and email you with "great offers" . Hell yeah... ) It only gets better )

Ninasastri,I really love reading your responses in Eccie,I learn alot and also you have very accurate ways of saying things.

I TOTALLY agree about the website. I have one as well and no matter what site I am posted on (Eccie,P411,Eros,my site ,ad posts I make etc)...I STILL get the SAME similar questions...It never will end, most men are visual, and look a few and ask. Even us ladies when scroling through an ad can find it hard to read a "Documenatary" and it can be an over kill....I was told a long time ago about this and I still try to stop myself from doing it at times Lol!

The emails and questions can be somewhat entertaining at times.I actually wondered if some of them were serious or just joking. It is good to have a website though.I think that the questions will always come even if its in bold writing and the site is simple, easy to read and of course does not take a year to sit and wait for it to load Lol!

P.S. I have been very nice answering pm's but I have had a few gents get upset about screening so I just have to stay nice and keep screening as I have been in these many fun providing years

Sounds awful! Yes I had a website for a short time with Wordpress and it was time consuming and I just wasn't into it. Now I have to find my domain name info again. Etc.

It really is that simple. Right now, without a website, are you attracting as many clients as you wish? If the answer's yes, I wouldn't worry about it. I also agree it doesn't stop the redundant questions that the website answers already, so I designed an autoresponse that gives them proper protocol for making an appointment.

If the answer's no, marketing is a definite requirement in this arena. There should be no such thing as an ineffectual website, just ineffectual marketing. I'm learning, since I have a very slender client margin as is, that there is no wrong way to stand out. And I guess it's based on our perspective definitions of 'effective'. I've noticed that even with an incomplete marketing package, my site and blog have increased my input to output ratio in this business. I'm as busy as I want to be, and I attract the clients I like. I don't expect every visit to my site to turn into a visit, but only a select few to make it through to the end.

If you want a website, I've designed mine and a couple of other ladies in HTML5. Hosting and domain name all inclusive. It all depends on your goals.

Hi! I know some high-end escorts who don't have a website and only have a P411 profile and a Date-check profile. Since you're on the East Coast, Date-check and Citivibe and Eros in the VIP section will work for you there and really not P411 or ECCIE. As far as message boards go up there TER is king and where people are the most active I always have great responses from Date-check and Eros in NYC and hardly any response from P411. In Texas and Louisiana P411 is wonderful and I recommend and swear by it!

Having said all of that - if you don't have a site, you have to have reviews and again, TER is king of the east coast market. TER down here is almost dead - it's funny how that works!

The best of luck to you and if you have any questions at all please PM or email me.

Yours,

Jill

I've never really thought a website is the way to go to create a personal brand for a lady. Bad ones are really bad and good ones are too slick and impersonal, sort of makes one feel like he is arranging an appointment for dinner and dessert with Shell Oil, Inc.

I look for ladies who maintain a more interactive presence in the "community." Blogs with commenting, board participation, etc. give me a taste of the flavor of a lady's personality. That's far more important to me than the standard rhetoric about "About Me, Gallery, Consideration, Etiquette, blah, blah, blah."

All the best.

I disagree to a point, JD.

A lady doesn't have to have mastered the art of website design, but I think their choices say a lot about who they are.

Colors, font choices, page succession, and other functions of a website should speak to the individual. Some ladies have built their websites where it's readable from beginning to the end, no matter if they book or not. Some ladies build theirs to attract the man that she wants.

I agree that the 'professional' ones are very impersonal. They use the same fonts, ad copy, and style. And one can contend that it's about the content, all the info a guy needs to make a choice. But it's all about the presentation.

I also agree that board and blog postings give a glimpse into her real personality, and helps make a bigger impression.

I agree - it's very interesting that some of the more beautiful, professional sites may or may not make a dime. I think that's what you were saying Tiffani?

From what I heard there's a very unreliable correlation between financial output with escort sites and income. I'm not privy to what more 'usual' websites may cost, but I suspect that what is spent on the more expensive websites, if it were spent on 'regular' businesses - like shoes or house cleaning materials or whatever - wouldn't a much greater rate of return be expected?

I'd love to hear from more 'regular' business people here - what correlation do you expect between advertising dollar and rate of return?

A friend of mine is in recruitment and he reckons that out of $100 spent in advertising he expects to make $60 profit. I thought that was a high amount to pay in advertising, what do people think?

Lastly I kind of think that it's energy that attracts, whether you spent $10,000 on your site or nothing. That's what I'm told.

Loved reading this post of yours, it is really interesting. I do agree with the Shell Oil thing, and also agree, that good blogs or interactions are a more elaborate way to gather a personal expression and give a feel. I must admit, in my case, the writing of blogs is a territory I do have yet to elaborate more, in terms of copywriting, since I want to trigger a more personal impression and not the standard "I am so much better than the rest" exuberance. It is hard work, and there are quite a few impressive blogs out there, for example "The Honest Courtesan" amongst others. Thanks for writing this and giving inspiration on how to improve escort marketing and web presence!
