Exclamation Presidential

It was a very Presidential speech, alright.

But did you all hear that rare accolade from that strange quarter?

The old coot is finally coming to his senses!

. . . Keep hope alive!

This is a sore spot with me.

I had my lower legs blown all to hell in Vietnam. Any Provider that has ever been with me can atest to the horrible scars I have on my shins and upper feet. The product of a land mine.

Now, the Army patched me up, and sent me to Germany to serve out the remaining part of my two year drafted service.

When I got out, I went right back to work, and never asked the Government for one damned thing. Five days after ETSing out of Ft Dix, I was back on my civilian job, it all seemed like some sort of weird dream.

In my age group, there are a lot of Vietnam Vets. The vast majority did just like me, you had to go, (back then this was serious shit), you went, and when you got out, that was it. No crying about the shitty deal you got, no whiperring, because nobody gave a shit. No feeling sorry for yourself because you didn't get a parade.

You got on with life.

Maybe my only regret is I was not able to meet Robert McNamara or Lydon Johnson in a dark alley for just a few minutes, so I could have beat their sorry no good asses to a bloody pulp for sending 58,000+ young men to their grave for an absolute worthless "war".

I don't understand how you can ignore the obvious. BHO runs with the same crowd that disparged the returning veterans, that made the movies that showed them to be insane, and ignored their suffering for nearly 40 years. Anyone who runs or ran with that crowd has to offer their own personal apologies and disavow Jane Fonda, Rubins, Ayres, Rush, and the rest before their words, no matter how beautiful, have any value.

I also have to take note that of the bomb throwing, spitting, protesting, lying crowd of racists that Obama and his crowd represent some of the people here call us the "slimy" ones. I note that many of those "slimy" ones are veterans. I see things haven't changed much since the 70s.

Oh yeah....he gives another one of his patented teleprompter speeches after he actually shows up on Memorial Day for the first time after 4 years and only because he trails so badly in the military polls.

It was so political and actually quite disgusting how he said "I" in all his speeches.

You're fool and a Dumb Ass!

Why veterans are so strong in their preference for the Republican presidential candidate is not clear. Previous Gallup analysis has suggested that two processes may be at work. Men who serve in the military may become socialized into a more conservative orientation to politics as a result of their service. Additionally, men who in the last decades have chosen to enlist in the military may have a more Republican orientation to begin with.
Veterans' strong preference for Romney in this election occurs even though Romney himself is not a military veteran -- though Obama shares this nonveteran status. This will be the first election since World War II in which neither major-party candidate is a veteran.
Barring unforeseen developments such as the re-institution of the military draft, the proportion of the male population in this country that will have served in the armed forces will decrease in the years ahead as the older population dominated by veterans dies off. These data suggest that Democrats could get an overall boost from this demographic phenomenon as these apparently reliable Republican voters become a smaller and smaller proportion of the population.

I do find it strange how any veteran could support Obama.

You're funny Ekim the Inbred -- the genetically challenged; they're your neighbors. You probably had them over to your house for a BBQ on Memorial Day.
