Create a fake facebook account that you use JUST for your hobby friends. Link it to your fake email address which I'm sure you already have. Then add as many friends as you want - just don't put any personal info on your account.

I think it all depends on your situation - single, married, SO
I'm single so to me it doesn't matter as long as they keep it discreet. I have strippers on my FB as well as family and friends but no providers yet.
But hey, that's just me and so is this:

Don't forget...
You don't know anyone from here. When the doors are closed we can be friends (or at least friendly), but when the doors are open we are all strangers.

I have some hobby friends on facebook, but I won't add just anyone. Just like adding my swinger friends. My family sees what I have on my wall/page, and I have to be careful.

I think it all depends on the type of relationship you two have...

So why not just make a FB profile for the hobby with a different email than the FB profile you have in real life?
Please do not bump threads over 30 days old.

I had a very good friend on my FB / myspace for a bit....although I wasn't as good at keeping up with the MS acct....
But this old friend/ one time client.....well, lets just say he likes to share what he's been "getting into".....
So, for me - considering my kids are on my facebook....my friends' kids' are on my facebook (you can never have too many eyes looking out....it takes a village), Real Life job co-workers and more.....I chose to not keep him as a friend, and he was cool with it.
I have A provider as an FB friend, and we really are REAL life friends. I know, without a doubt - that we would never compromise one another - AND the way we are on FB is no where close to how we are or the things we have said on the boards, in chat or in person in the hobby life. LOL

The mixing of Civilian life and hobby life is like mixing oil and water and hoping it will blend together. Keep it seperate
