YOU CAN'T...
Specific individuals pardoned who were convicted of assaulting officers include:

- Daniel Rodriguez, who used a stun gun to "plunge it multiple times" into the neck of Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone.
- Julian Khater, who pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer with a dangerous weapon, specifically by pepper-spraying U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick.
- David Dempsey, who was described by prosecutors as "one of the most violent rioters" and used hands, feet, flag poles, crutches, pepper spray, and broken furniture as weapons against officers, receiving a 20-year sentence before his pardon.
- Robert Palmer, who attacked police with a fire extinguisher, a wooden plank, and a pole.
- Tyler Bradley Dykes, who used a stolen police riot shield as a weapon against officers.
- Christopher Quaglin, who "viciously assaulted numerous officers" for hours, including pushing bike racks into them and choking one officer to the ground.
- Andrew Taake, who was sentenced to over six years for assaulting law enforcement officers with bear spray and a metal whip.
- Devlyn Thompson, who hit a police officer with a metal baton.

(compiled by Google AI)

Here's a press release by a Congressman describing more:

Trump pardoned hundreds of people who pleaded guilty to assaulting law enforcement

(sorry, Mods... standing up for these Officers is worth the points, if you must)

Got any proof of that?

I don't know how the state in general is there, but I know Chi Town is an interesting mix with crime for many a decade.

But I have to hand it to a previous(?) governor of that state putting a moritorium (sp) on executions for the amount of innocent people who were on death row.

That, to me, showed they were concerned with Americans safety.
