Mamdani is not a communist. "Democratic socialist" and "commie" aren't interchangeable in terms of ideology.
Pejoratives, on the other hand, are imminently interchangeable.
It's the other C word.

let's ask an expert shall we?
whitewash it with "democratic socialist" all day long. it all leads to the same goal.
COMMUNISM

LOL... instead of concerning themselves with protecting the LAW ABIDING citizens, the communist concerns themselves with abetting the criminal. They free criminals to foment chaos in which they can claim to deliver peace and order, but which will actually be filled with tyranny and injustice.
Its no different than catering to the foxes needs rather than the chickens who pay the taxes to/for the farmer.
The failure is going to be fun to watch and the voters of NYC will deserve every last bit of suffering they experience.

Your nihilism is almost more nauseating than your never-ending rants against Communism....
This line, especially, is a beaut: "They free criminals to foment chaos in which they can claim to deliver peace and order, but which will actually be filled with tyranny and injustice."
Jesus Christ. Did you steal that from the out-takes of "The Red Menace" maybe?
Mamdani ain't a Commie. That's been established, except with compulsive deniers.
Even if he was, to say Commies don't support "LAW ABIDING citizens" is ridiculous.
Ergo, your arguments against yeahsure's point make no sense.

Of course effective reform should protect society as a whole. The best way to do that is to release people who can contribute to society rather than posing a threat to society. Those who have been through the system might be well positioned to contribute ideas about how to make successful reintegration, which benefits both society and the released offender, more likely.
Successful reintegration makes ex-cons taxpayers and lessens the economic burden of incarceration on society as a whole.

Sure the foxes can become chickens and live in peace with the chickens. And if a few chickens have to die to get the vote of the foxes... well so be it.

So, once anyone is locked up they should never be released because successful reintegration can't happen?

For those convicted of violent crime, or committing a crime with a weapon... yuppers.
lock them up and toss the key.
I would opt for execution for those who commit murder, rape, voter fraud (since it's our most sacred obligation)
Those executions would be swiftly carried out after appeals process and MANDATORY DNA confirmation... no DNA evidence, no execution.... Oh and they'd be open to the public.
My societal obligations are to the chickens, not to those that violate the rights of the chickens..

Since our justice system releases people back into society, Mamdani has a good idea.
I'm curious - How do you get the stains out of your underwear? or, do you just buy mega multi-packs at Costco?
If you're that chicken you gotta shit yourself 4-5 times a day.

Ah yes, this classic poorly thought out defense of the death penalty. Just claim that you require sufficient proof. For some it's "video evidence". For you, it's "DNA evidence".
Of course, all of you overlook the fact that you'd need evidence that the evidence is real. After all, unverified evidence is as useless as no evidence. All forms of evidence can be faked too. But also, are you implying that you yourself would verify this evidence, or select someone to verify the evidence? Perhaps a jury of peers? Yet another simple wrinkle, since the jury itself can be corrupt. Look up the history of juries miscarrying justice.
It turns out making sure that the people you want to execute are actually guilty is tougher than you thought. Whowouldathunkit?
But more on topic, I'm also curious about why you draw a convenient line around violent crime. Why should we only worry about about those who physically harm others? If I rob someone with a gun, I'm beyond rehabilitation, but if I steal from people and screw hard working Americans out of their retirement savings, that gets more leniency? I find it particularly interesting that theft doesn't make it on the list of executable offenses but voter fraud does. You'd think that a pro capitalist would be equally offended at someone violating someone else's right to private property.
Evidently, stealing and carrying out a coup against the government is not a capital offense beyond rehab, but an armed robbery conviction means you can't give advice on the criminal justice system. Make that make sense.

Do you live in NYC? Do you vote in that election? Sure seems to be that you believe this is some kind of official position requiring approval or confirmation.you should work on your reading skills. That is if there are any books on the shelves.
Where was your outrage when Trump pardoned convicted drug traffickers, politicians charged with bribery or appointed an affirmed and vocal science denier to run HHS?
Until you square that hypocrisy, you self righteous MAGAdoodles got no leg to stand on.

I've asked in the past which members here have their primary residence in NYC and nobody raised their hand.
Just goes to show you that maggies will go out of their lane to complain about anything under the sun that doesn't apply to them.

More than enough evidence and proof that donny is a putin boot licker, butt kisser, knee bender.
And Mort presented the final package with a ribbon to show so.
