The ignorance on display here regarding medical school admissions is frankly par for the course around here. As is the racism.

Why aren’t you a neurologist, uncle? Is it because a South Asian immigrant took your place in med school? Or is it because you wouldn’t or couldn’t do that job?

If it’s as up to the “sapper,” our fields would be empty of workers and our hospitals would be empty of health care professionals.

You’re right. The goal is zero… stupidity. Please try to help us reach that goal.

You’re fooling nobody.

6 months of ZERO illegals released into our country.

2 million illegals removed.

Rents drop for the fourth straight month.

Who'd have thunk it?

I think the rental and housing market are more complex than your post is suggesting.

Right now we’re sitting on the result of a multi family housing construction boom that occurred in the past few years. Combined with a slowdown in employment amongst the younger generation is what is causing rents to drop.

Deportations are making a difference but 2 million people is not a big enough number to drop rents like you are suggesting.

The real problem that we’re not seeing yet is the fact that the administration’s tariffs and immigration policies are going to make building new homes and apartments more expensive going forward which is just going to make housing costs worse in the long term. Regardless of how many deportations are completed.

logically that is false. We're supposedly in a negative population replacement birth rate. With enough deportations and restrictions on legal immigration, the demand will drop with the population count. Supply, even existing supply, is sufficient to meet decreasing demand.

It does if you take into account that our population is still growing just at a slower pace than in previous decades.

Population will only start to decrease when more people are dying than being born. There are still a large number of people who are going to be moving out of their parents homes in the next decade or so who will need housing.

I’m not sure that the deportations will overcome this trend but I do know that builders won’t build as many rental properties as they want to if they continue to see prices rise due to tariffs and labor costs rise due to a lack of labor supply. Which is going to be a problem because 30% of construction workers are immigrants.

From ABIC: https://abic.us/construction-securin...ericas-growth/
Immigrants make up nearly 30% of the U.S. construction workforce.
In states like California and Texas, this percentage can exceed 40%.

Who built homes before 30-40% were illegal? Do you think hiring illegals was cheaper for the builders than hiring Americans? If not, why did the practice become so prevalent.

Bonus round... has the quality of home construction improved since the 1970s?

*My Dad built 2 of the homes my family lived in as a kid... All while working as a NASA sub. Consequently I learned at a young age how to do framing... and trust me, the old man would come unglued looking at the quality of the framing being done today.

Get yourself to instagram and look at some home inspectors channels... its insane what is being done by home construction crews today. Cheap and shitty is the illegals quality motto.

That’s not the fault of immigrant workers. If we had a good training program in place for the construction industry and we actually filled it maybe we wouldn’t be employing so many undocumented workers to begin with.

The problem with the capitalist system is that it’s completely shortsighted. Contractors were happy for many years until their workers started retiring and there were no trained (or untrained) workers available to enter the labor force except for undocumented immigrants.

I didn't write that it was. That doesn't mean the American people need to suck it down because a bunch of politicians and elitist snobs fcuked up 20-30 years ago...

Has nothing to do with the issue. Its all about the money. Construction companies hire illegals because they work cheap... zero other reasons. And if you think every illegal is some sort of skilled tradesman that has certifications and went through a formal training process.... you're dreaming in color.

Yeah poor contractors are FORCED to hire illegals... lol.

Its not that you're wrong, its just that the things you believe just aren't so.

The left just can't bring themselves to say EXACTLY what these illegals are...ILLEGALS not undocumented.
That way they would have to admit to their UNLAWFUL activity and show they support this criminal behavior.

The most tiresome argument ever. Plenty of people in this country are criminals or are currently on parole or probation and many of them have jobs and contribute to society just like most undocumented immigrants.

I understand the argument that you’re making against immigration but I find it bigoted, shortsighted and ignorant.

speaking of tiresome arguments .. is it bigoted because these people aren't white? that's the flaw in the "bigoted" argument. if millions of white Canadians were flooding into the US illegally would it be bigoted to oppose it? of course not and it's still illegal.

your other argument is also invalid and false. that actual citizens do commit crime is not a whitewash of the crime of illegal entry to the US regardless if these illegals commit no crimes while here. their entry alone is a crime.

Proving my point even further...

HUD Sec. Scott Turner confirmed that the Democrats gave government-backed MORTGAGES to illegal aliens, harming American citizens.

Fcuk them traitors...

Guess what happens when illegals are part of the demand on the supply demand curve?

Now explain affordability to us all again.
