Democrats are worse when it comes to crime. Take Chicago for instance the goofy mayor and Governor don't want violators of immigration Laws arrested. It's all about Trump. If Santos was a Democrat, you would be ok with it.

I’m not sure anything else needs to be said. I think the real question is what crime would be bad enough that Trump wouldn’t forgive a loyal MAGA supporter.

TxDot, this might be the most fundamental and core value that is behind everything that is destroying this country at the moment.

Repubs have always did things that did not serve their base. It all started with their mantra "just one term". That kicked off their collective actions to spite this country to do whatever they could to block, bar, disrupt a person they didn't like. And it came off looking racist. And did nothing to serve the great number of their constituents.

Santos was on CNN this morning. He expressed what appeared to be genuine remorse for what he did, and said the $373,000 in restitution was blown up by the prosecution from what it should have been. He also said a lot of the money came from a national Republican campaign committee.

If that's true, maybe you could make a case that 3 months were sufficient to spend in jail for what he did. The 87 months he got was excessive. Remember, he spent campaign contributions on personal expenses. I bet that goes on a lot, although violators aren't as flagrant as Santos was. He still should have had to pay some restitution.

Anyway, if you're going to criticize Trump for this commutation, should you also criticize Biden for pardoning six family members, including Hunter?

I don’t think so. Biden believed Trump when he said he was going to get revenge and acted to protect his family.

Trump would pardon pretty much anyone who he thought would benefit him or his party.
