But the Trump plan was expected to fail. It got the live hostages out, and now the Israelis just need an excuse to start dropping bombs again. There's no remaining civilian utility infrastructure in north east Gaza. So there's nothing for the civilians to go back to. Basically, Hamas has lost several square miles of Northeast Gaza that may never get rebuilt.

Islamic extremism will ruin any society it envelops. Few moslem nations hve risen above the tribal and religious squalor brought about by Islamic extremism. At this time, the UK is nearly drowning in cultural quick sand due to Islamic extremists.. Though not quite as bad, this is a problem for Sweden as well.

The people of Gaza, the West Bank and other places cannot aspire to prosperity and peace while also embracing Islamic extremism. Much of Lebanon and specifically Beirut, used to be a nice place to live. . . .but Islamic extremism has brought only misery and poverty to so many there.

The near future will show us if Gaza can become the garden spot of the editerranean West Coast . . .or not.
