I would disagree with this assessment. The biggest difference between the “autocratic” regimes of Roosevelt and Trump is that Roosevelt used legislation to make the really big changes during his presidency. And when he went to far his own party put the kibosh on him.
Trump doesn’t have the ability to truly make the changes he wants because he can’t get congress to create the legislation to do so. Why do you think he is trying so hard to gerrymander the mid term elections.
