After the recover portion of responders job is done, there are definitely gonna be some questions that need to be answered.

I know some people that go to those camps and have volunteered in the past. Going to ask what the SOP is about imminent rain.

Even Rosie O’Donnell, noted meteorologist in Ireland, is blaming Trump.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/rosie-...-texas-floods/
However, all of the people who were actually involved are saying that a flash flood warning was given a full 3 hours ahead of the rain, and a severe weather alert 12 hours before.
It is also noted that the NWS had 5 extra people on staff.
However, nobody foresaw the torrential downpour.
But that doesn’t stop the left from blaming The President.
Because that is what stupid, uninformed Democrats naturally do.
|
"5 extra people"...."nobody foresaw"
Definitely a contradiction there.
But there are should be consequences for what happened. And the politics should be set aside for the moment. Even if wheels and kristi put it out there for all the media to see.

“I don't think there was enough evidence to even suspect something like this was going to happen,” he said. ”I think even if you had a warning system there, this came in so fast and early in the morning it's very unlikely the warning system would have had much effect.”

I can't remember where, but a reporter brought up that there is another place that has an actual device in the water that gives the level of the water and can announce when a situation arises that needs to have a warning announced. No such system was in place where the flooding occurred.

I read elsewhere that there were two meteorologists brought in to augment the standard three to assist.
There was no quote by Trump about plans to update an antiquated weather forecasting system, NWS is part of the Dept of Commerce. How KN have any idea?
|
Can you clarify "vacant warning coordination meteorologist"? Do you mean there was a link missing in those who known the situation existed to communicate it to those that needed the information?
And kristi already started the process to deflect blame. And she did a very poor job of it. donny didn't like her comments with the Iran thing. She really put egg on his face by saying weather equipment is old with that big beauty of a bill gutting funding to update stuff.

Yeah. Those prayers worked preventing all those shootings and kids deaths in the state. At least rabid maggie fans think so while ignoring the stats.

Key Headlines
Flash flood warnings issued night before, NWS had 'surge staffing'
Questions have swirled around if there was enough warning and enough staffing for the early Friday morning floods in the wake of the Trump administration's job cuts to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
But NOAA confirmed that the National Weather Service's Austin/San Antonio office had five meteorologists working the severe weather event as part of its "surge staffing" protocol. It is normally staffed with two.
NOAA also said the NWS had forecast briefings Thursday morning, issued a flood watch Thursday afternoon and then issued flash flood warnings on Thursday night and early Friday. This gave "preliminary lead times of more than three hours before flash flooding conditions occurred," NOAA said in a statement.
possible heavy rain and flooding was forecast. these campers accepted the risk.

First official statements I hear putting political blame started with Texas governor and DHS lady choking on donny choad at news converence. Than trying to put the denial on when reporters asked some question that will need to be answered.

Since everybody is looking to blame, how about the adults who ignored the severe weather and flash flood warnings.
The head of the NWS states that they gave numerous warnings of the severe events that were about to unfold.
https://www.nbcnews.com/science/scie...ods-rcna217139
Obviously nobody headed these warnings.
Also, he was asked for a response to Senator Schumer wanting hearings. The Head said he welcomed open hearings so the public would see that the NWS did not drop the ball.

Abbot is a politician and a Governor. Abbot and Paxton have spent the entirety of Biden’s term spending their time and the government’s resources fighting a political fight rather than dealing with the daily challenges of the state.
Public Infrastructure spending isn’t very sexy as far as it goes but I would much rather see them spend my tax money on flood control projects or drought remediation or pretty much anything else than border control propaganda and trying to prove voter fraud.

On the right, religion and politics are one and the same.
But what I really want to know is why donny dumpster wasn't notified so he could draw the floods away from the camps on a whiteboard. Sheeple all over the news after the hurricanes last year saying the government caused the weather...where are they now the ass hat is in office?

Abbott's religious beliefs weren't part of any political rhetoric but the left always wants to make religion political. didn't you read that part of the Constitution about separation of state and religion?
show me where Abbott made his religious faith a political issue to anyone but the left.

Why did the head of DHS have to start right in, and say an antiquated weather warning system
needs to be "fixed" ? Right off that assigns blame to a previous administration, who apparently were
not able to fix it.
Then she goes on to say Trump and his administration will "fix" it, and we can all live happily ever after.

It makes no difference how well you “fix” it, it still comes down to people adhering to the warnings.
What will the “authorities” do if they say torrential rains and flooding is coming and you need to leave, and nobody listens. That appears to be what happened here.
Which only goes to prove that sometimes there simply is not much you can do, aside from banning people from living in or visiting places where things like this flood can happen.
When hurricanes hit the coast, most people just use the tried and true formula. Shelter from wind, run from rising water. And that works, unless it happens to be 3:AM, everybody is asleep, and the water rises 20 ft in about one hour.
