Kind of wondering how the ruling on universal injunctions will have unintended consequences, when the three branches of power have their political makeups changed over time. With that said, for the short term, a big victory for Trump. I would still like to see federal judges be able to hear cases and rule on their legality in more of an investigative role...and refer any violations to Congress, where formal impeachment processes could begin. But to have a Federal judge wield more power than the POTUS is ridiculous.

... "Over time" the Supreme Court members can always re-visit this ruling.

But, for the time being - President Trump can enjoy the decision.
Then President Vance .... And President Desantis ... President Trump II,
... And so on and so on...

More predictions? Whatta joke. As is the "over time" statement.

The Supremes have now completed their roll-over, acceding further power and severely limiting the only "check" against these fascists.

WHY THE FUCK would anyone want any one person to have this kind of power. ANY person.

Defend that, Patriots. Tell me why you would support any one person having this kind of power and influence. Kinda seems to be against some of the very founding principles of this nation, seems to me....

MAGAs are not interested in democracy. Their reason for MAGA-ism is born of their apparent belief that an untouchable Trump makes them untouchable, thereby not having to worry about “lesser” individuals and “invaders” being allowed a chance to share the country with them… unlike their grandparents, possibly parents, who WERE those undesirables.

That’s why they march behind Don Snoreleone.

This is further proof.

How is it any better that the legislating is now coming from executive orders rather than from the actual legislature?

All they have done is refused to take responsibility for their part in the process and thrown it back to congress and the executive.

You call it legislating from the bench, I call it making sure that the executive follows the law.

Millions of immigrants that came over post Civil War were just about one rung above indentured servitude.factories needed workers, and the Robber Barons were not generous.

The old song “Sixteen Tons” made famous by Tennessee Ernie Ford pretty much nails it.

The fraternal side of my mother’s family were Southerners, they settled in northern Tennessee in the 1800’s. They were share croppers, which was just about on the same level as the poor factory workers in the North. If they were lucky, the land owner gave them just enough to keep going after he took his.

As I said in another thread, the maternal side of my mother’s family were English, settling on the East Coast.

My Maternal Grandparents, (northern Tennessee), did not even have indoor plumbing until the mid 1950’s when my father had a deep well put in. They did not even have electricity until the TVA finally ran power lines to those back woods hamlets in the 1940’s.

WW-2 is what allowed my parents to break the chain of poverty.

Ah hell, this thread has gone from a SCOTUS ruling on LGBTQ curriculums in school to immigration. Some of you old birds really just can't stay focused for shit and must love getting threads locked. LOL

does that include a federal district judge with limited jurisdiction issuing a nationwide injunction?

that's what the ruling addresses. these judges know their scope is limited yet they attempt to exceed it when it suits their political ideology which is the antithesis of your fair and impartial justice. Yes?

I'm just curious to know what percentage of schools actually have LGBTQ as part of their curriculum. I know for a fact that my kids don't at their school, so I was wondering how relevant this issue even is.

I will admit that I don't want my youngest reading LGBTQ themed books. She is a question asker and that's way above my pay grade to reasonably and innocently explain to a child. I can only say, "ask your mother" so many times before she gets fussy with me. I wouldn't care if my sons did though, they'd just think the books were funny and fiction. Haha

US Supreme Court rules on President Trump's birthright citizenship order and lower courts' power to block President Trump, limiting the authority of individual district court judges to issue nationwide injunctions.

I’m sure they’ll be glad to read your thank you note, Salty!

They’re keeping America free from freedom.

Hahahahahahahaha

Theyre disgraceful and are enabling authoritarianism. And you’re keeping score.

Great job, MAGAs

The President is directly elected by the people. Federal District judges are not.

No they haven't. Relief is provided onlyt for the parties of the lawsuit. The goal was never to win the lawsuits for the democrats the goal was to stop up the gears of justice so that the illegal invaders could be used for vote counting (in the census as well). Their presence dilutes the value of your vote.

Yes, it WAS a great job and ruling. Telling district Court judges to stay in their lane and that they can't make national rulings. As they were always supposed to do. But the leftists here can't understand that this ruling simply reinforced the way things are supposed to be. As Barrett had to explain in small words to Jackson.
