I should say "game of chicken".
Trump has become a laughing stock.

Some adults came to visit and explained if you don't crawfish, people aren't going to be able to go to a store that's stocked. Let him get a deal with some country that buys jack shit from the US and claim he's making bank. He's financially illiterate...

... Indeed. ... They've been projecting it for 4 years,
which is WHY Trump is negotiating Trade Deals.
And the liberal lads KNOW that Trump is going to SUCCEED.
Which is why they whine and complain every day. ...

The next book on Trumps negotiating skills: The Fart and the Squeal.
The Chinese are going to own Trump (and thus America) and do not have to answer to their electorate. A lesson he does not seem to have learned in his negotiations with Putin.

Trump having discussions .....?
The only one who believes Trump is having discussions with China and receiving phone
calls is --- Trump himself. True TDS.
Why does Trump have to lie about everything ? Why do his MAGA supporters keep believing him ? The more
he continues to lie about this, the more he embarrasses himself.
To follow the usual recommendations in this forum, Trump needs to prove it.

You can bet that there are talks going on daily.
China has far too much to loose.
Of course, if your TDS compels you to hope Trump fails, you will believe the Chicoms no matter what.

Very simple: Trump can go ahead and prove it. Or perhaps you can.
If he can't, according to this forum, it is just another one of his endless lies.
And the assertion that he received a phone call.........bahahabaha
There is nothing I have mentiond of a hope of Trump failure. What is mentioned is the hope that his MAGA supporters will wake up some day, and stop believing his lies.
There is one source of TDS.........Trump.

Trump could tell MAGAs that he is going to be picked in the NFL draft that I'm watching right now, and his gullible sheep would believe it. LOL
All Trump knows how to do is lie. Comical that so many are gullible enough to believe anything that comes out of that man's mouth.
Trumpettes should wait until a tariff deal is actually executed instead of being dumb enough to believe Trump's bullshit about any success and progress.

MAGAs are attempting to put a new angle on the tariff issue. Trying to paint anyone who points out
Trumps flawed approach and lies is pro China.
Note: It did not have to be this way.

the Trump effects
Walmart sources 60 percent of its goods from China while Target get 50 percent, according to Reuters.
There is already evidence that US companies are cancelling orders from China. Shipments from China in to the Port of Los Angeles are down 64 percent in the first week of April, compared to the week before, according to port data.
Both Walmart and Target had previously warned that tariffs could also lead to higher prices for shoppers.
......and this is just the beginning
It did not have to be this way.

... You're correct that surely don't "have to" be that-way.
Yet THAT is what Walmart and Target want to do.
Did you notice they just had a meeting with Trump??
And WHO sayes that "this is just the beginning"??
Is THAT yer-own belief?? ... OR China's.

You miss the point entirely.
Trump is the one and only cause of the higher prices and empty shelves that are coming. It did not have to be this way.
Walmart, Target, and other CEOs have to explain it to him.

The press and Democrats are doing their best to crater the economy telling everyone how bad it is going to be soon. The reality is that when everyone expects an outcome it usually doesn't happen.
