No no no Mr Gristle. Shawn Fain who represents those workers knows why they were laid off. Not you and your frantic TDS google searches. You try to get it right.

I know where you pulled it from. The article conflates Stellantis as the owner of Mack Trucks.

It's Volvo. Fain's statement says nothing about the LVO. He's talking about Stellatis locations, one of which has Mack in the name.

The Stellantis Mack Assembly is near Detroit. Mack, Warren, Trenton Engine.

Maybe spend less time trying to prove that the wrong company owns that plant and more time feeling bad for the manufacturing jobs that are being lost of this tariff whiplash and the economic impact

It’s above your pay grade Mr Gristle. Tarriffs had nothing to do with the small layoffs in Allentown. Now put your tail between your legs and mozie on.

Wrong again

Quote:
“Heavy-duty truck orders continue to be negatively affected by market uncertainty about freight rates and demand, possible regulatory changes, and the impact of tariffs,” a Volvo spokesperson told abc27 News. “We regret having to take this action, but we need to align production with reduced demand for our vehicles.”
There's another 100ish that will lose their jobs in Maryland. Also a Volvo owned location. Part of Mack Powertrain

I do love you keeping this front and center, though.

The economy is going to crash because 300 workers got laid off. Hardly a headline.

It is absolutely a headline to those workers and their families.

And those with empathy

The real headline is how many of trump's own voters have lost their jobs since January 20

Unemployment has barely changed at all in the last year. Dissecting small movements in particular jobs/industries is retarded, it only serves to feed TDS brain rot. For every obscure minus HD can dig out of Dailykos’s archives, one could easily find an equal positive somewhere else. The only people who care are already part of the circlejerk.

Nice, J. That's 3 false statements by you in one post and zero empathy for these workers

You are right on all counts. The OP is suffering from severe TDS. This thread isn’t a blip on the radar screen. But he gets a woody because members are posting here and debunking it. Kinda weird.

It's a pretty big blip for those families.

Which is thr topic and more important than any speculation you have regarding the telephone pole in my pants, good sir.

Of course it’s a big deal for those families. But it wasn’t tarriffs that caused the layoffs. How many steel workers or coal miners lost their livelihoods over the years because of onerous government policies? How about those folks Mr Gristle? In the scheme of things, Mack isn’t a drop in the bucket.

It actually is the tariffs, the uncertainty they cause and their impact on demand.

https://www.reuters.com/business/aut...te-2025-04-18/

https://www.inc.com/reuters/trumps-t...yoffs/91178742

Those 250-350 are part of that 800

This is one drop, in what could be a pretty full bucket. And those folks and their families and their livelihoods ARE important.

Btw, that's more confirmation for Volvo
